lets say every thing holds to form. michigan wins no big games on the road and cant beat msu or osu. thats two losses. in the harbaugh era michigan has lost no home games to anyone other then osu or msu. both those are on the road.there is no historical advantage for losing either the nw or nd games on the road.

michigan is more likely to lose 3 games tops then 5 or 6. even with worst case scenario involved. that is if you want to believe that history will just keep repeating itself.

So if Harbaugh can't dig it out, who can? Tell me who UM can get that will "dig it out". Or is your point that UM is bound for mediocrity and dissapointment no matter what now? In which case why are you a fan if all you're going to do is poopoo on the results of what you already expect and plays out to be true?

I wish these kids all the best.  I was a little annoyed to see our rivals (OSU & ND) get 2 targets but I'm optimistic about next year so it will make it even sweeter when they stomp ND and beat Ohio.  A bit concerned about OL depth but this team is backed into a corner and believe they will fight out of it with some very big haymakers.

Jim has brought this upon himself, but I think the media always harping on Michigan as if the sky is falling, starts to become reality for these kids.  The sky isn't falling.  Disappointed in some of the coaching decisions this year but not too concerned given their track record.

Grown men groaning for recruits! Damn I’m glad that this isn’t my life. It happens every year! When we won in 1997 we had a terrible year before it and our classes weren’t World Beaters! Just hilarious.

We all expected today to be a giant kick to the balls which is exactly what happens. Now we hope like hell we get the grad-transfer OT and just look at it as the year of grad transfers for recruiting. Get the offensive play calling figured out, which apparently Drevno was stripped of play calling duties (From the wolverinelounge which I have no idea how valid they are so clarification if its a good source would be helpful) and we can have a solid year and a great 2019 recruiting class which is already looking like it could be as good, if not better, than last year.

I don't understand why I held out hope that Reese would stay with us.  I underestimated the pull of $$$ I guess.  Should have known better.  This just makes me want to cheer for this team even harder next season.  Beat ALL of these fuckers by developing our current roster into ANIMALS who are set on revenge.  One helluva motivating factor, revenge is.

This is just who we are. Recruiting has changed, kids are going to where they feel they can win. We are going to have to start winning on the field with 3 and 4 stars like MSU has been doing. Can we do that? It remains to be seen.

The OB Bowl left a big impression on the country.  It was the first time I really started to doubt Harbaugh as the team looked completely disorganized and frankly, poorly coached.  South Carloina was a bad football team, really bad, and we let them beat us from behind.

And the schedule we have in 2018 is murder, we beat 1 team with as much as 7 wins last season , Purdue.  In 2018 we play 6 teams that won 10+ games(ND, OSU, MSU, PSU, NW, and Wisky), and 4 of those on the road.  Please tell me we go better than 3-3 in those games!  I don't see that, I see 2-4 or 1-5 in those games.  4-2 seems almost impossible.  0-6 seems more likely than 5-1.  Ugh.

You're right, and what's worse is every one of those teams has Michigan circled. They can't wait to kick our ass. They always seem a little more fired up to play Michigan than Michigan is to play them. Michigan can't afford to take those 6 teams, and the other 6 teams best shots. What a stressful summer this will be lol

this one hurts due to the length of the commitment and the optimism that was surrounding the player coming here for so long. as much as some people hated it, one thing hoke did well was hold on to the guys he wanted. If you wanted to come to michigan and you committed to the school you werent visiting another school dozens of times before "deciding" between the school you were committed to and that other school.

This one blows more than anyone else. HARBAUGH may have to refocus his recruiting and maybe abandon the elite talent down south. I see this happening a lot more in our future.

Nobody likes hearing all these guys go elsewhere, but all is not lost.  It's hard to blame a kid for going to Georgia, OSU, or ND.  We had two great classes the 2 previous years.  One down year, as long as it's not terribly down, won't kill us.  A few signature wins this year and we can get back on track and follow up with a great class in '19.  Time to do it on the field.

On the big stage. Ask spaety. Another 8 or 9 win year and another class like this and this run seems over without any championships... even the Big 10 East. Put up or shut up.

I get where you're going with this - Wisconsin does not recruit impressively, but they do make the most of what they get, which includes a fair number of kids from the otherwise overlooked state of Wisconsin. Part of it is coaching, development, a dead-on strategy for their system, and all that. That being said, what does it say about your division when classes which rank as roughly second-tier in the P5 can consistently win that division?

Three top 100 not signed for 2019.  Otis Reese was a commit a year ago as well, means nothing until they sign.

Need more sleepovers, tree climbing, overseas trips, tweets, podcasts, and focus on SEC country recruiting.   /s

Anyone saying Penn State has greatly outperformed us should look at the record.  They are 29-11 the last three years and we are 28-11.  We are 2-1 against them over this stretch.  They won the Big Ten Championship in 2016, but just one play would have kept them out of it (either us vs OSU or if they hadn't blocked that kick against OSU).

We had two pretty damn good recruiting years, now this. I always expected this class to drop a bit, but I have no doubt our on field results caused it to slip more than it would have. We have to take advantage of all the experience we have coming back next year, 10 wins is nearly mandatory at this point for this coming season.

How many times can this staff swing and miss?  It is absolutely unbelievable.  The staff seemed like they were sleepwalking through this cycle, Harbaugh included.

In previous classes he stayed the night with recruits, climbed trees at their houses, took their families go-karting, among other things.  None of that happened this year.

Win-Loss records do mean a lot in recruiting, but personally I think the misses were a lack of effort on the trail.  This class was a disappointment.  The perennial power houses don't have down recruiting years.
