Washington State missing top two receivers for bowl game vs. MSU

Submitted by Amaizing Blue on

While I like Mike Leach and find him highly entertaining, he does seem to have some issues getting along with players going back to his time at Texas Tech.  (Son of Craig James, allegedly locked in a shed as punishment.)  This is the latest incident-one receiver is transferring and so will not play in the game (A Speight-type situation, it happens.)  The other one claims he was kicked off the team because he asked for a release, while Leach said he was cut from the team before he asked for the release.

This will hurt WSU's pass-heavy offense.  Dantonio's deal with the devil has to expire sometime, right?  Guys?

It's not like a MSU loss will help Michigan in the rankings after bowl season. If anything, a MSU win will help. There's no way Michigan passes MSU anyway playing an unranked opponent.

Unless you're in a high profile bowl game where the result can get the attention of a 5-star or high 4-star recruit, the most important aspect of the bowl game are the extra practices and game experience for the young guys.

If Sparty wins, all it does is give talk radio guys something to talk about and Dantonio can probably tweet something about bowl wins since college football's inception back in 2008.

Also, the 3-9 turnaround is all people will talk about, regardless of bowl result.  They're playing with nothing to lose right now.

This is what's going on at the same time as the Holiday Bowl:
TCU/Stanford
Rockets/Celtics

The only people watching MSU possibly win their 10th game will be MSU/WSU fans and their commits.

We're putting too much value into their game against WSU.

But Dantonio's constant dickishness and trolling have turned me off. I don't root against them, but I won't root for them, or watch them. If they lose, I won't care. If they lose badly, I'll feel for my relatives that are Spartan fans, but that's about it.

It's all good -- whether MSU / we win or lose an upcoming, minor bowl game isn't really going to do all that much in the grand scheme of things.  Just have to keep basking in the positivity of all the recruiting / transfer news and look to the future.
