Onwenu

It’s not often a guard deserves his own thread but today is one of those days. Onwenu looked dominant today. 330+ rushing years and it felt like he was wiping someone out on most of those big runs. Not only blowing the guy in front of him off the ball but he showed agility on traps and getting to the next level. Rutgers aren’t good but the strength of their D is the defensive line. Not today. Breakout game for a young Michigan offensive lineman.

Anybody know who was wearing the nameless 97 today?  People were saying it was Spanellis, but he was out late in 72 w/ his name on it.  Was it Ruiz?

Wasn't specificallly watching Onwenu,  Maybe a good thing.  Thought the running game looked the best it has all year.  Hopefully this continues.

Watching him today I found myself thinking that he was going to be an all American before he leaves Michigan. You just don't see that kind of size moving like he can and when he makes contact he has been moving guys. By the time he is a senior... Watch out.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Matt Millen's MGoBlog account! I can't ever think of a reason why broadcasters fuck up pronounciations. You had a week to prepare for this game. We are talking about the heaviest man on the field, you KNOW you'll be calling his name. Its just not acceptable in any case.

Onwenu also had another pull, where he comes around, and there is no one left to block. That makes 3 by my count, and is a very good thing to see so consistently. I just get so tickled seeing that, and seeing holes big enough for the portly fella to run through. I can see some handoff's coming very soon. ;) A+++ run blocking today.
