But this game was helpful. Next week Purdue is going to scheme similar and the Boilermakers are faster and more physical than Air Force. The Purdue game counts towards the B1G championship, the Falcons do not. We have just survived a painful lesson at the right juncture. Have faith.

The triple option from a fans perspective is so boring, but Air Force ran it well. I'd be pleased to never see that option game ever again, but if we are being honest the injury toll (defensively) seems minimal. If at the beginning of the week someone said we could have a win and no serious injuries, I think we should be very pleased. I'm going to try to take that approach.

Dave Brandon was the worst thing that ever happened to this program, period. He beats The Horror of all varieties, RichRod, Brady Hoke, OSU refs, 10/17/15, anything. Fuck him. That is all.

By the end of the season, we're going to look back on these first few games weeks and laugh as Florida will be undeated in the SEC and AF and Cincy won't lose another game the rest of the way.

They got so lucky to win that game. Luckily, it was on ESPN 3 and only me and you were watching. Everyone else is going to look at the box score and see that they were favored by 5 and won by four - not realizing they got a pick six with a minute left and Miami got all the way down to the Cincy 20 yard line before running out of downs!

Don't be a weak ass! What exactly about AF made us struggle? Our offense was the shit show today, and AF isn't exactly viewed as anything on defense. So many soft people here

I realize that not scheduling AF again is a thing this week, but we did win by more than two touchdowns, we got a competitive OOC game to watch, and a young team got valuable experience. I was impressed that AF played with a lot of grit and determination. It's great that those guys will be serving our country. We should be proud of them.

Not sure I get this OP after what we saw there.  The only thing that made AF scary was their offense, which our defense shut down nicely.  On the other hand, our offense was treated to feasting on an undersized defense with only one returning starter and served up indigestion.

Further, I didn't see too many dangerous cut blocks.

I'd rather face Air Force again next week than Purdue.

isn't especially wacky or unusual...or especially good. This could or should have been a game for an ailing offense to get healthy.

Props to our D though. I think our D shows you what a very talented but inexperienced unit looks like..a lot of good stuff, flashes of brilliance and the occasional hiccup. Our offense should look like that too..but it's actually mostly hiccups coupled with the occasional play that works as planned. It's bad stuff in almost every aspect. It's also not like this was a deviation; this matches our observations from previous games this year.

You got a 8/10 D and a 3/10 offense. That comes out as a just slightly above average team.

Nothing wrong with playing AF.  Michigan should beat everyone and anyone.  The offense can't move the ball with any consistancy.  Lots of factors.  play calling, blocking, bad QB play. Do we have any tall TE'S?

By their QB.  Tough as nails.  Playing a team that knows triple option can be a huge pain in the butt.  Our guys handled pretty well.  Hats off to Air Force.  I'm just hoping our red zone play calling is holding back good calls until B1G play starts??

Michigan defense did well against the Flexbone offense but there are moments where they struggled to defend their offense.  Ultimately, it's the offense that couldn't get done in the redzone.

The game was ugly and it does nothing to prepare for the future games because none of them will play similar to them this season. Just survive and move on. Better to come out with an ugly win as opposed to an upset.
