Harbaugh tweet

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

People were saying in a thread the other day that it's weird and almost offensive that Harbaugh hasn't tweeted barely any support for the team during this run.

He tweeted out combine stats during the First Round game which was weird and caught attention from people including myself.

Well, here's this

Outstanding performance by Coach Beilein and @umichbball team! Terrific individual efforts today too. It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

it CAN go. Now, everyone knows: We're going to the championship. This team is playing at a level that Beilein's last championship reached against Florida. We can beat anyone, and this team knows it. And more important, it feels it.

So freakin stupid. We just made the Sweet 16, and people are more concerned about what Harbaugh tweets.

You know why Harbaugh doesn't go to many basketball games? Whenever he does, the cameras are glued on him instead of the team the whole time.

I am kind of glad now that I glazed over the Harbaugh tweet drama - I just assumed that he was sending the team good vibes and that there wasn't too much that needed to be said. I do agree with what a few folks said - it is nice to see Michigan athletics come out as a community on social media and support each other, but I think the assumption should simply be that they are encouraging each other out of sight sometimes.

Yep, Jim is obviously jealous of the basketball team and doesn't want their success. Clowns and trolls trying to make drama. The ones who wear lipstick and polka dot dresses in their mother's basement.

It's always been silly that people question his support when he goes to countless games. Getting introduced as coach, eating pizza that one time, shooting halfcourt shots at gameday etc. He supports his family member who happened to coach Indiana and he didn't wear an Indiana shirt or clap when they played us.

That's the one that got me! Tweeting about your players GPA's and spring combine results are one thing, posting a picture with Mr. Peanut after the basketball team won 4 in a row after a plane crash is another. To each its own but I hope behind the scenes he sent Beilein a text just to see if he was ok after the plane incident. Even the angry midget Izzo did that.

The fact that this is even topicworthy is troubling. We should not give a damn what a football coach tweets during a basketball game. He gets paid a lot of money to do his job. That's all he needs to worry about.

For this post. You'll always find something wrong if you look for a reason. Nice to see the tweet from Coach Harbaugh, but not necessary. Never came close to catching my attention, him not tweeting support. Go Blue!

There is one issue about Little Pitino: the radio announcers for today's game noted that Pitino was in the stands for the UM - Ok St game and they suggested that he might be scouting for his dad. They also discussed that he might be sharing scouting Intel from the Minnesota staff. I do not know if this was just wild speculation or if there was truth in it, but it seems as though this might not be ideal for Minnesota or the Big Ten as a whole - possible conflict of interest?

I do think it'd be neat if there were a way to have a twitter feed embedded into the site on one of the margins for news/current event purposes (that could be toggled off for the old men who like to yell at clouds).  Brian and the mods could determine which credible/reliable/interesting/relevant users to draw from.  I have a separate Michigan feed on tweetdeck that draws from a number of people, from the Michigan Daily to Dr. Mark Schlissel to Sam Webb to Big Ten general sources.

I'm sure people would still make threads over certain, substantial tweets.

I prefer anything to WD fulfilling his daily thread quota and being presumptuous about what is newsworthy.  If we wanted to follow Jim Harbaugh's every tweet, we'd have a twitter, and we'd be be following Jim Harbaugh.  If we have a twitter and we are following Jim, but we happen to miss something interesting, then I'm sure'd appreciate a board mention.

This thread and this tweet is something that wasn't can't-miss.

You titled the thread "HARBAUGH TWEET".  People are going to click it on the off-chance that it's newsworthy.

This isn't newsworthy.

Improving your spelling and making a meta suggestion about the board and twitter are both more productive than a clickbait title about Harbaugh congratulating the basketball team.

If you knew how to differentiate between good and bad attention you'd be far less insufferable.  This isn't about me criticizing you, it's about you deserving criticism.  Fucking learn from it.

As long as we're being mature: you look fat.

and I'm very happy that the school I graduated from is enjoying basketball success and that there was nothing try-hard about my tuition dollars and four years on campus.

It's hilarious, because I'm not. I'm 215lbs.

For being a "Michigan alum", you sure do say a lot of dumb stuff and are pretty consistently eHateful towards someone you've never met. I feel bad for you, I really do. I hope you find peace in your life.

Oh well. You enjoy being misreable and I'm gonna go celebrate OUR Basketball team's win!

Go Blue!

I say dumb stuff?

You post dumb stuff.

Often.

Daily.

Incessantly.

You're not 17 anymore.  You're out of excuses.

You don't know how to read a room (the overwhelming sentiment in this thread is that this thread didn't need to exist) and you're doubling down.  Again, the problem isn't that I take exception to you and this thread, it's that you're fucking tone deaf.

That's you IRL.  "Did I create a bad thread...no, it's the haters that R MAD."

Wad got a taste of fame with his little email. He has seen people with talent get jobs off their posts/diaries here. He is a super fan who is chasing a gig where he can get more access. He doesn't get that 95% of his content is something most of us already saw and just moved past because it wasn't really thread worthy.

He is a kid who was never paid attention to and when he posts here he gets attention good or bad. I am sure one day he may grow up, but he does still have a full blown Michigan bedroom like an 11 year old.
