Thanks so much for the tip on Poipu.  The Grand Hyatt looks amazing but the price is pretty steep.  Like $1400 a night!!   Whoa man....

Any good hotel recommendations for Kauai, HI?

03/31/2018 - 12:47am IF we win it all no doubt

IF we win it all no doubt I'll be super happy, but I would honestly be most happy by a long shot for Beilein.  If karma is a real thing I can think of no other that deserves the joy of winning it all and being at the top!

GO FUCKING BLUE!!!!!!!

Michigan state..... I have always felt pity towards you. No matter if you guys are winning, losing, and mostly complaining and running your mouth. I have always felt sorry for you. Maybe one of the Mgopsychologists can explain why.

03/05/2018 - 3:09pm 1.  It will be a defensive

1.  It will be a defensive wrinkle or two like some zones to throw in there and steal a possession or two.

2.  Preparing for and breaking the trap

3.  Ton of set plays and just running reps on what we have in the tool box

4.  Free throw shooting!!!!

5.  Not too bigs at same time.. our offense depends on spreading the floor not clogging it up, plus dont want our bigs to be handling the ball that much and trying to be playmakers.  That's a recipe for more turnovers (sorry Mo....)

What spacex has been doing is nothing short of amazing.  But launching his car into orbit?  I think he should know better the exponential consequences of putting debris into orbit.  I forgot where i watched a program on this but it is a serious serious problem

Yea nailed it

At least the mass media are all over it.  As much as MSU administration wants this to quietly go away as they have demonstrated with their inaction etc, this will never die now.  An incredible shame

I am proud of myself for not watching the game at all.

Absolutely hilarious.  I watched the link, I don't know who is who and therefore can't tell if this is a high light video or a low light video.  If I'm supposed to be watching the offense or the defense.  Paired with that music funniest thing I've seen today.

I've wondered this very thing.  Can someone explain how is this not a false start?

ASU should immediately start a reality TV show about the football program.  Just follow Herm around and just keep filming.

12/02/2017 - 11:45am great write up and analysis

great write up and analysis but again i just dont see how this is smart to take these risks at this point in the game down and distance ultimately with a quarterback that has been prone to make incorrect decisions.  putting the game on him like that was the dumbest thing i ever saw.  sure the play could have worked but you can always say that faking a punt deep in your territory.  again a stupid risk to take but hey it could have worked

bottom line we had time to drive the field and to me is really the end of the discussion.  something a lot less risky and simpler could have worked too but whatever onto next year. happy holidays and new year to everyone!

Them firing Peilini was a huge mistake.   Also Georgia firing Richt was also a mistake in my mind.

11/25/2017 - 5:20pm OK Okorn is not gonna light

OK Okorn is not gonna light the world on fire and is not likley going to win the game by himself. But I thought he played ok and had us in the game.  He should have really hit all those open receivers to start the game and he should not have that tendancy to just hold the ball and eat a sack like he commonly does.  That's on him.  But I also thought the coachgin, the OC or PEP or whoever has to know that he does this and try to gameplan and simplify things for him.

Like our final drive.  We had like 2-3 minutes left and it is obvious we are either gonna score or we are gonna lose.   That first down play call was probably one of the worst I have ever seen.  EVER.....   I mean WHY call that?  We had time, we could have called some plays and dinked and dunked our way down the field.  WHY take that shot bc even if we hit it we still dont necessarily get the touch down.  That was high risk low reward IMO.  I think if you are gonna take a chance like that it has to have a payoff.  Not at that place on the field.  Not at that down and distance right when we get the ball.  To me that was less about Okorn throwning a bad ball.  That was more about our coaches not being smart.

Plays I would have liked to see sprinkled in there.  I mean basically any easy read misdirectin play you can list here...

Simple run look play action with lead fullback that runs into the pile gets lost while running back runs other way.  FB then leaks out into the flat.  Easy 5 yard completion.

That rollout TE throwback screen we hit earlier in the year.

Jet sweep action that gets linebackers flowing to the edge then slip the TE behind them going vertical.  Same concept on that Iowa fake FG play.

Try a fade down the sideline against man coverage

Khalid hill shovel pass running across the formation that I think Meyer himself popularized with Aaron Hernandez back in Florida

Some rub routes against man coverage

Man beating crossing routes over the middle that they were killing us with

Finally whatever running play I think power where we cut to the backside gap and had success with earlier in the year.

I think these are way easier reads lower risk plays.  NOT that post call.  Yea Okorn missed the safety read but again WHY put your quarterback in that position to screw it up??!!??!?!?!

At the press conference the main and only question for me is

WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!??

I dont know if thats Drevno or PEP calling that.    But to me that was a real headscratcher.  Plus calling these passing plays where Okorn drops back and has to look around.  That is not his strength in case you havent noticed over his entire body of work.  He tends to miss reads and eat sacks.   These plays should have been abandoned long time ago.  Needed simpler plays that got the ball out of his hands faster.  I dont think once did we execute one of those longer devleoping plays by Okorn.  (Also OC protection becomes an issue)  So who is the genius that keeps calling those?

We were really in that game right up until the end.  It wasn't just Okorn although I have a feeling he will be the scapegoat.  To me it was the coaches not helping him out even though he does need more help than a quarterback should.

11/21/2017 - 11:22pm They should put some clause

They should put some clause in the contract that pays Harbaugh a bonus anytime some of his known specified trolls in the media do a story on him or mention his name.  Every Pete Finebaum mention gifts Harbaugh like $20k.  So even when he is talking shit he is knowingly making him money.  Thanks Pete!!!

10/03/2017 - 12:00pm Those clips are just amazing.

Those clips are just amazing.  Love the marching band playing in the background of the old timey videos.   Makes it seem like fiction but it was real.

09/27/2017 - 3:39am That twitter feed was pretty

That twitter feed was pretty funny to read.  Talk about people piling on!  But he deserves it.  Someone even posted a screen shot of someone ridiculing him by "updating" his Wikipedia page.  Don't want to incur the wrath of the internet.  Remember when everyone wrote scathing reviews of Rosenberg's book on Amazon?  Funny stuff

09/26/2017 - 4:14am I actually think because we

I actually think because we have the defense that we have, we should insert the more risk taker quarterback.  It's not like things haven't blown up being more conservative anyways with all the pick 6s that have happened for whatever reason and for whoevers fault.

09/24/2017 - 1:45pm This is a tough one.  I have

This is a tough one.  I have always been in Speight's camp and I inherently do not like changing quarterbacks.  I was 100% sure Speight would/should be our starter but I agree with a lot of what the OP has mentioned.   Now I do not fault Speight as much for a lot of what has happened because I think our OL play and poor blitz pickup has really hurt the quarterback play.  But I do see that O'Korn gives us a better fighting chance against these breakdowns.  I will say the offense with the shorter quicker throws to the blocky-catchy types make our offense more efficient and something that Speight did not do as much.  Not sure if this was by design/play call or him not looking for the checkdown..   or not surviving the rush long enough to get there.

One thing we don't see perhaps is how O'Korn takes care of the ball in practice.  If he is making too many 'gunslinger' throws into traffic then the coaches may prefer a less risky, less dynamic Speight.

But O'Korn had an awesome day, overcame all the penalties and negative yards, kept picking up first downs and was a ton of fun to watch yesterday!

09/10/2017 - 5:36pm Grant Perry has some nice

Grant Perry has some nice hands, nice catches fully extended throughout his career.  That one low catch that was ruled incomplete was definitely a catch.  I don't like him lunging the ball out there for the touchdown hopefully the coaches make him stop doing that.  Totally not needed.  Rashan Gary was not a late hit let alone targetting.  Again the refs just itching to make that call way too liberally.

09/04/2017 - 10:19pm Roughing the kicker on extra

Roughing the kicker on extra points carries no consequence. You just lose your chance to run one back because they just kick it out of the endzone which for some teams may be a good thing since they can't fumble and lose the return. They should still kick off at the usual place but allow the kicking team to take yards off the return or something like that

09/04/2017 - 9:23pm When GT is doing what they

When GT is doing what they want they are fun to watch. Why anyone willingly schedules them is beyond me. Hope they continue to make Tennessee look like the keystone cops

09/04/2017 - 4:58am Ulizio did not have the best

Ulizio did not have the best outing, but he is brand new and the coaches think he gives us the best chance.  He will get better and we will be fine.

09/03/2017 - 9:39pm While agree the targeting

While agree the targeting rule is an important one, I think it has been getting ridiculously over applied and it seems that this trend will not slow down.

If you slow down every football play and analyze it in slow-mo, any idiot commentator can make the case for 'that's targeting'  or 'helmet to helmet' contact...  they really should save the targeting call for those egregious plays and not be itching to make the call all the time

08/11/2017 - 5:01pm I can totally see this

I can totally see this happening as the OP has mentioned.  I would not be suprised.  More running backs will be catching the ball out of the backfield like Evans and eventually Ben Mason the fullback

08/09/2017 - 2:19pm I'm really looking for ward

I'm really looking for ward to this guy and watching some devastating fullback play

Do the train formation and then come out in that 8 receiver set

07/26/2017 - 12:36am Harbaugh is the greatest.  He

Harbaugh is the greatest.  He is a great coach, but to listen to him speak he sounds less like the typical football coach and much more like an academic.  It's obvious he sees the whole football thing through a much bigger lens than anyone else does.  There is simply no one else like him.  I love that he is our coach, can't wait for football to start, and can't wait for his first sideline tirade.

03/19/2017 - 3:14pm I'd like to see Harbaugh in

I'd like to see Harbaugh in the stands going apeshit when a call goes the wrong way.

03/19/2017 - 2:56pm Pitino ALWAYS looks pissed.

Pitino ALWAYS looks pissed.    Never happy.  He must be fun around the holidays, just scowling at the presents, family, and Christmas tree.

I hate Rick Pitino

03/19/2017 - 1:27am Spieght is the starter unless

Spieght is the starter unless Peters is better.  It's not rocket science.  It's something none of us have any insight into so all the discussion and argument about it is flat out pointless and dumb.  Harbaugh and co will have the best player on the field period.

03/19/2017 - 1:24am Once again the effin

Once again the effin committee gift wrapping Duke into the final four.   Seeding all sorts of screwed up.   Good job Hollis.  There's obviously a problem if there is immediate consistent media backlash after you release your tournament seeding.

03/19/2017 - 1:13am That was an egregious

That was an egregious non-call.  NW got SO incredibly jobbed.  How that ref misses that is beyond comprehension.

03/11/2017 - 11:35am Officiating was just

Officiating was just horrible.  Some of those fouls both ways actually were ridiculous touch fouls  going both ways.

Painter would have won that game if he had Spike in instead of the other two white dudes who look like they would be the last two guys picked at a YMCA pickup game.  (and scored like it too)

02/03/2017 - 1:21am I remember Kevin Grady -

I remember Kevin Grady - yeesh......and poor Derrick Green too...  why does it seem like we have a way high rate of whiffing on RBs?

02/03/2017 - 1:03am I dont know about a permaban

I dont know about a permaban but I'm not necessarily against it.  The issue of dirty tactics will never go away though unless there are some repurcussions to the head coach AND to the institution.  This way the coach just can't be scapegoated and fired only to land on his feet someplace else and the school can't just go on with its usual business as if nothing ever happened.

Penalties in general really need to be stiffened up.  They are supposed to hurt.  They are penalties.  Vacating wins is 100% meaningless and should be banished from ever being uttered again as a punishment.  There should just be more scholarship losses over more years and longer bowl bans.  This is the only way you will disincentivize the institution from doing dirty stuff and eliminiate their political spin machines from shirking the blame onto someone else.  The banning coaches idea makes sense since it probably the main logical way to disincentivize their complicity in all of it.
