OT-NBA All Star Game

Submitted by Bo248 on
I'm so happy a watched MBB (in spite of the outcome) last night instead of the NBA Side Ring Circus called the All Star Game. I read this morning the final score was 192-182. I watched some highlights of the dunk fest. To call it a 'game' is surely a jest. Does anyone even care about that game any more? At one point Steph Curry was laying on the floor like a prop and and guys were jumping over him to dunk like a Globetrotter's game.

I don't watch the NBA even when games do matter. There is almost nothing interesting about it, save for figuring out what Draymond Green's next technical foul will be for.

Defense went out the window with that sport. You so much as breathe on another player now, you're getting a whistle. Unfortunately football is slowly heading that way too.

Watched about 30 seconds, score was around 50 apiece at the end of the first quarter. Checked back at the end and saw it was hard fought defensive struggle. Love basketball, that was a joke.

Yeah the ASG is definitely more for entertainment than competition. A lot of salt in this thread. I don't care much for the NBA, or things like the WWE either. However, these things still pack arenas and get plenty of viewers. If other people like it, who cares. Good for them.

just to see how you cram that many points into a game. Everybody must have been red-hot.

I think all-star games in all four/five major leagues are all lacking in drama, but the chance to see a lot of high-priced talent on the same field/turf/ice, for serious fans, obviously continues to be a draw.

I sometimes worry about people's need to rag on the NBA.

Congratulations for watching the thing you prefer. NBA All Star Weekend as a whole has some fun moments as did the game itself. It's the best of the annual All Star experiences (Orlando Pro Bowl being the absolute worst) and every 4 years we get the Olympics to see these guys play together and also play defense. Dudes are just trying to entertain people and not get injured. Check out the Sager stuff from Saturday or the West bench going wild after KD hit Russ for a dunk if you like the spontanaetoy of the NBA.

least favorite of the 3 or 4 major pro sports. There is just too much exposure, too many parasites looking for drama and too much money for too many athletes with the maturity of teenagers.

Why people get so worked up over all-star games and the pro bowl is beyond me.

It's a silly showcase for kids!

Do you get mad when the Globetrotters are jacking up shots and sitting on the rim and laying on the ground as a prop?

...the sooner you have that mindset, the sooner you'll stop taking it so damn seriously. It is a show for children. Some adults still like it, just like some adults like the Globetrotters or cartoons. Nothing wrong with it, but us starting a thread because a cartoon isn't realistic is crazy.
