META App not working
The android version of the app hasn't been working for the last several days for me on my older Asus tablet, and then last night it wouldn't work on my Samsung Galaxy S5. It will open and display the front page and the board, but when I pull down to refresh, it doesn't do anything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times on each device, and the tablet finally started working, but the phone isn't.
Also, I've noticed that you can't move between the board, diaries, and main page on the tablet while holding it in landscape.

Not sure its exactly a first world problem type of thing since I find the mobile experience bad enough to not even bother visiting the site.

This probably isnt a problem at all to Brian. If I remember correctly the HD ap didnt "count" so he didnt get ad revenue from it. User experience great - site owner gets nothing. So even if he loses half his mobile audience during the forced conversion he's still way ahead cause he's now picking up those making the switch.
I'll bet his site traffic is up sharply post swich, not down, even if his overall audience has dropped. Cause now everybody is coming through the turnstyles and not jumping the fence to get in.

For sure. Its a net win for him, but a loss for us, the people that actually use the site. And that's the part that annoys me.

Anyone who wants to try this trick who deleted their app:
Go to App Store on your phone
Go to Updates in the bottom right corner
Press Purchased
Scroll up and find the search bar.
MGoBlogHD will still be there and you can still download it.
Tell me if his trick works if you have a 6s or 7 and choose to retrieve the app.

But if you click your home button and hold the app and go straight to the message board for example, works fine just like it always has.
I'm, sorry - what?

There is a difference between touching apps on iphone and pressure touching them...if you simply touch it, it will open the app. BUT if you pressure touch an app, it gives you options. try it for yourself

Works on my iPad but not my iPhone. The icons in the background don't appear, even when the Not Supported Popup shows up.
Bring back HD!

Thank you for pointing this out! I didn't think to look for a work around before I deleted it. I'm back to being regularly glued to the latest updates.

I just checked the app on my Galaxy Note 5 and it seems to be working for the moment. It was slow last night, but it didn't crash.
I don't use the app that much, but when I am tuned into the games, it's definitely handy.

I can't even log into the iPhone app at this point. I get why the HD App is now no longer supported but it worked... I could log in, I could comment, it worked! This app does nothing except allow me to read whats going on and think about what I would have said/commented and that's it.

To Brian and the crew -
When your career is dependent upon a website/blog, does it not make sense to invest in that blog? Get a business line of credit, invest in a reworking of the site, improve the advertising ppc's, and pay off the LOC. As an comp engineering grad myself, I know they don't teach you much about business on North Campus. But as a small business owner myself, the money you don't put into your core business will inevitably lead to lost revenue. It's rare that you ever get to a point in business where investing money seems totally "safe." It'll always make you feel nervous spilling out $50k when you aren't sure on the return. But hell, that's why you set up as an LLC in the first place!
