Trey Zeigler narrows list to 5 schools
Lists 5 options with Duke, Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA and Central Michigan. Sounds as if we should know within a month as he is planning on announcing around April 14th.

So youre sayin theres a chance...
...a commitment from Trey prior to the spring football game to add to the buzz around Michigan at that time. Wishful thinking, but a possibility nonetheless.
One of these things is not like the other: a Duke offer is alot to compete with.
But they got on him very late. The other schools can tell him "We wanted you all along; they didn't."
I had heard that he probably isn't going to Duke. Has anyone heard anything to dispute that?
chance that he comes to Michigan- as a current CMU student, it looks like he will stay home right and town and play for Dad; try and win the MAC tourney and get to the tournament- that's the goal. I believe that he would make a hellova scoring option to go along with Manny- Zeigler can run the point- at 6'5- he's quick as hell- I've been to a few games. He would be a great recruit for either school- let's hope he doesn't call EL home come August.
there is no chance that he comes to MichiganCare to back that up with just one single tiny little fact?
I remember fondly the same wisdom being spewed in regards to Demar Dorsey.
Demar Dorsey wanted to commit to CMU? I don't buy it.
Yep, you didn't know Herb Deromedi is his daddy.
The guys over at Rivals have been saying for a few weeks that people within the program are "confident" about Zeigler. So saying there's "no chance" is probably premature or just flat-out wrong.
You're absolutely right. Outrageous statements are always best supported with a lack of any evidence.
I'm a resident of Michigan, male and I like basketball and I have it on good authority that he is a lock for UCLA.
being a CMU student is supposed to suffice as evidence?
there is no chance that he comes to Michigan- as a current CMU student, it looks like he will stay home right and town and play for DadThe mods at Rivals would strongly disagree. Edit: Magnus already mentioned it. Damn you.
No! Damn YOU!
...there's enough damn for both of you.
Shut it, Suge Knight.
I will make you my Vanilla Ice. Where's that balcony?
I retract my previous statement, Mr. Knight.
Wait... what? Ziegler is ALREADY attending college? at CMU? Jeezus, will somebody let JB know so he doesn't waste any more time?
I think Raback needs to get to work on this like he did with Dorsey.
that there's no chance he goes anywhere BUT michigan?*
*I made this up, but I have heard of Trey Ziegler and know that he lives in Michigan and plays basketball pretty well.
Good enough for me.
Can't wait to win a natty.
Per Carl Hagelin, we're calling them "Natty Champs" now.
Well for hockey you could just call it a Natty Ice.
Would the winner of the NIT be "Natty Light?"
Basically you're saying that absolutely nothing has changed in the recruitment of Trey Zeigler. He's still considering the same five schools he's been considering the last several months. It is kind of frustrating that he's keeping his recruitment so close to the vest. I wish he'd at least narrow it down, now, that it's so close to the end, to at least 2 or 3 schools.
He did drop Providence and ASU. Both were trying to get one of his final visits.
But yes, basically you are correct.
I have it on good authority that Trey Zeigler has a good name for a three point shooter.
That I am not Trey Zeigler, nor do I play him on TV. Although I'd like to play as him on NCAA 11. But of course he'd have to come here for that to ever happen.
Not too many people truly know what he's going to do and maybe he doesn't even know yet. Let the kid decide. Sure playing for family could be great, but realistically he'll never be what he could there. I hope he makes the choice I want him to. But good luck to him anyway.
was up in Mount Pleasant the day after Michigan was eliminated by that team we will not speak of in Ohio- to watch Zeigler practice. I have yet to see Trey sport any kind of Michigan gear yet; he has been seen wearing Duke gear to his classes and whatnot; Coach K was up here about a month ago to see Trey practice as well.
I said earlier that Michigan has no chance in landing him. Let me retract that; they have a 20% chance as of today. The only thing that will help UofM land him is if he gets to start right away; he would at UM, CMU, but maybe not at UCLA, MSU, or Duke- that early playing time factor could be huge.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he dating Joe Dumars's daughter (who is U-M bound)? That would be a nice little intangible factor in our direction.
That is what we in “the biz” call sticky services
(And yes, I am embarassed that I know that information.)
Oh my. He didn't happen to receive that gear from Coach K did he? Pardon me while I make an anonymous phone call to my good friend Encee Eheh.
Duke just signed a JUCO player who is a 6'6" wing, playing a similar position to Zeigler (although Zeigler is probably more of a 2/3 and the Duke commit is more of a traditional 3). I think that commitment tightens up their scholly situation a fair bit. I know Duke likes to have versatile players like Zeigler, but I think adding Zeigler would make the class too big. He's good, but he clearly wasn't Duke's top priority. If he leaves the state, I think it's much more likely that he goes to UCLA than Duke.
Come on JB let's win this battle!
