A Little Turkey Treat

Submitted by umbig11 on
Some of you may have missed what I posted yesterday in a thread that was deleted by the Moms. Therefore. I am re-posting the good news for the board to enjoy on Thanksgiving with some additional nuggets. WS practiced again yesterday and moved the offense very well. He accounted for at least one TD pass during live action. You can expect WS to play on Saturday along with JO'K and it's no secret that Peppers will also take his share of snaps from the Wildcat. On offense, expect several unbalanced and heavy sets to protect WS/JO'K and to jump start the running game. Think Harbaugh and Stanford! There will be a lot of quick throws to the receivers, but Michigan will take their shots as the OSU defense loads the box. The defense will be aggressive and the players are fairly healthy. Glasgow and Mone have not been 100% since the Illinois game. Hurst has played with a nagging injury all year, but he is close to 100%. Hill, McCray, and Stribling were a little banged up after Iowa, but ready. Contact in practice was very light this week and today's practice in front of the players families will be more of the same. The QB decision will be decided before Friday's walk through. Basically a gameday decision. Go Blue!! BEAT OSU!!

that playbook is now wide open. Harbaugh and staff been preping for this game all year. That OSU turkey is now stuffed with buckeye nuts and it is time for the Wolverines to feast ... GO BLUE !!!

When Tom Brady pretended to have an injury for a play against OSU. Drew Henson came in, threw a WR screen, the WR threw it back to Henson for a 30 yard gainer.

We can't know if it's true intel but what really matters for NOW is that I feel better. My intuition says Speight is practicing and will play if at all possible. He's the starter with true game experience and the QB everyone else on offense trusts. The ol' saying about the prom applies here: Gotta dance with the one who brung ya. Between now and Saturday at 11:00 CST I'll be biding my time, drinking my placebo beverages, and hoping for the best. I really wanna see #3 run out on that field to face the Buckeyes. With our defense putting more pressure on Barrett than he knows what to do with I am confident we will win this one. In 1978 we went down there and blasted them 22-0. I'll be the first to predict a similarly surprising but ecstasy-producing outcome this year. Go Blue!

I suspect a lot of the concern about O'Korn is misplaced, in the event he does have to play. Everyone commented on how bad he looked against IU, but one thing really hasn't been discussed: the game plan was so basic (and in some respects different) that it looked like nothing else we've seen this year (aside from a few plays in the second half). Completely different formations and play calling strategy. That isn't likely because O'Korn can't handle the full play book (he's year two in the system, lived with Rudock last year, and competed for the starting job during camp). No, that was far more likely a complete sandbag by the coaching staff. He didn't play well, but it's tough to say how much of that was weather, how much of that was unusual play calling (from our normal game planning), and how of that was him not playing well. I can't be the only one who noticed how different the formations and plays run against IU were from the rest of the season, right?

Wild wolves are going to be on both sides of the ball and trucking QBs on both sides, within the rules is going to be a thing.  Should Speight get racked up, I think the 1 game experience of Okorn, good or bad is going to be a huge aid if he's needed.

One of the most nervous moments of my life was last season when Rudock got drilled v. Minnesota and Speight had to come in cold off the bench, having (I believe) not played all season previously.  At that point he looked *cold*.  Although he got the job done it was an initial flashback to Bellomy going in v. Nebraska and getting the shit sacked out of him.

I would rather see Peppers line up at RB or in the Slot rather than taking direct snaps in the Wild Cat.

There are many more options of play calling if they were to do that.
