I'm not a fan of the "leaping" penalty and it's always good when OSU loses, but can anyone tell me why PSU shouldn't have been flagged for leaping on the blocked kick? The PSU player started the play more than 1 yard away from the line of scrimmage, ran forward, and jumped into the line. Looks like he partially landed on some lineman and grazed off them. This is what the leaping penalty is. Maybe since he really didn't land directly on someone?

I think it's because he didn't land directly on anyone and instead mostly hit a gap. The rule's designed to prevent guys from coming straight down on a lineman's back.

It's designed to keep players from vaulting off the backs of linemen to get higher in the air. The penalty is called when that happens, see MSU at Indiana.

I didn't think that video was that bad. The days of RichRod and Hoke, I used to absolutely lose my mind. This was pretty calm IMO.
