OT: What are your favorite fried foods during football season?

Submitted by No.9 Hamburgers on
I know this is way off topic but I have an honest question to ask. We are contemplating adding fried foods to our menu. 1. What are some of your favorite fried foods? 2. What fried foods would you guys like to see at the football games? Thank you for responding in advance.

Right now, I have a deep fried apple pie in development. I had to take one for the team and gain 5lb doing it. I always have to remember to let it sit for about 20 minutes because its like biting into molten lava.

I saw something during the last Red River Rivalry game at the Texas State Fair about deep fried butter - yes, a pat of butter, deep fried, with some sort of sauce on it. Can't be good.

My grandmother opened a small restaurant in Iowa in the 1940's and sold it around 1984. I worked there for a few years when I was a kid and learned to make her famous "loose meat sandwiches" by the dozen. I was one of three people who knew the recipe for the sandwich but was sworn to secrecy. I was always amazed that she would have people lined up around the building waiting to get their hands on her loose meat sandwich. I guess I wasn't too shocked though because the sandwiches were awesome. To make a long story short, my grandmother & grandfather were the other 2 people who knew the recipe and they are gone now. I always planned to open a small restaurant, sell these sandwiches and make enough money to retire early, but then decided I didn't really want to be in the restaurant business. So, if you're interested, I would be happy to pass the recipe down to a fellow Wolverine fan. Let me know.

Please show up for the spring game, that would be awesome. I think onion rings would be the best option. Wings might be a bit tricky especially for the customer who will be trying to walk and eat or just stand and eat, messy proposition either way.
