how about Herbstreit stating we are not in Louisville's league

Submitted by Butch-dontcall… on

Can someone ask KIrk Herbstreit if we are still not in the same league as Louisville? They just barely got buy Duke in Louisville. Also i am getting tired of the osu slappies on the B1G network.... Sorry , first post, just venting and -- had a few cocktails and not getting up early to tailgate tomorrow!

There's only 1 way to defend this, Michigan just needs to keep winning. Even I'm not buying this season until I see us undefeated going into Columbus. And then take it to the Bucks, we've seen this before only to crumple down the stretch. Let's take it game by game and quit worrying about people on tv

Herbie is annoying and ya the OSU SEC slappies got old a long time ago. If they would simply broadcast games and stfu they would quit losing subscribers

I watched the Louisville v Duke game last night and although I hate to say it, I agree with what Joey Galloway said post game ... Jackson has set the bar so high that a statically great game for another QB is ho hum for him. However, Jackson failed my "eye test" but for a few spectacular runs. Specifically, he gave up a terrible sack on the most important play of the game that pushed the FG attempt to a yardage at which Louisville's already iffy kicker is iffier. I get that he's an amazing playmaker, and he often avoids that sack and makes something out of nothing, but that is the kind of "situational football" play that wouldn't show up in the stats but that a Heisman caliber QB should be able to execute. Obviously, the kicker could have still missed the shorter kick, but when Mack Brown said, "give credit to Lamar Jackson ... He did what he needed to do to get the win ..." I was nonplused because he actually made a serious mistake that, but for a flag (iffy, IMO -- I thought he was pushed a bit and it was running into, not roughing), could have lead to his team dropping another game and thus destroying any chance of the CFP. That being said, I think Herbie was reaching a bit when he said what he said. To me, the mainstream commentators, like Herbie, are too emotional when they see dynamic players and exciting wins like Louisville had against FSU. They go overboard, but then a then don't revise their excitement when a new data (like FSU sucking) comes in. Michigan v Louisville would be an awesome matchup, and I wonder what Herbie would say regarding that comment today.

I called it a few weeks ago when Louisville was riding high.  I said they are going to come back to earth.  Looks like they already have.  Louisville won't sniff the CFP discussion at the end of the year.  BTW, if Michigan and Louisville played today, Michigan would win by two TD's.
