Former LSU AD Says Miles Turned Down UM in 2011

I wanted Les Miles all along, but I admit I was wrong. I think Harbaugh is a much better fit, and I'm happy it turned out the way it did.

Saw this quote from Miles on the dan patrick show, asked what he's going to do this Saturday. "That’s going to be a tough one,” Miles said when asked what he’ll do on Saturday. He said he’s going to be rooting for UNC, Michigan, the Dallas Cowboys and LSU. “I enjoy football and I can’t imagine I won’t be involved in some way.” Always liked Les, he always kept his love for Michigan. I hope he gets another job, and wish him well.

I recall when local radio announced that Miles was hired.  Not sure where they got the incorrect info.

Glad he stayed in Baton Rouge back in 2011.  Can't believe he and Cam Cameron let that offense get so bad over the past couple of years...

9-3 / 10-2 every year here and drove us nuts with the clock management, crap offense, etc.  Would have been much better than Hoke, but we would still be miserable because that is what we do as Michigan fans.

With Harbaugh we have one of the top 3 coaches in college football, so it worked out well for us in the long run.

We don't know, really, the nature of the conversation. My best guess would be that there was vague talk about what it might take to bring Miles to Ann Arbor, but no actual offer.

Doesn't surprise me, who wants to work for Douchebag Dave? Brady Hoke, that's about it Who cares about 2011 anyway. We had disastrous seasons by then due to Miles wanting to come but the AD mucking it up in 2008. That's the year i care about

I guess thinking on it more, i don't believe this because Brandon would've revealed it at some point to at least get people off his back about hiring a guy few had heard of (and who failed completely)

Les was jamming LSU AD for a raise with the Michigan job being open will never really know the talk he had with Brandon wouldn't blame him turning Dave down. I believe that Les was very close to leaving LSU for Michigan after 2007 season but because ESPN had to break the story before SEC Championship with Les saying he'll be staying at LSU because it broke.
