There Are......
Days until legendary Michigan quarterback Denard Xavier "Shoelace" Robinson cheers on his alma mater as they crush the Rainbow Warriors of Hawai'i in the season opener at the Big House. With his electric athleticism, cheerful demeanor, and embrace of the student-athlete role, Robinson was perhaps the brightest light in an otherwise difficult era for the University of Michigan Wolverines when he attended from 2009-2013. He is a true "Michigan Man."
As first team All American in 2010 he broke the Michigan school record for total offense with 4,272 yards. He also lead the Wolverines to a victory in the Sugar Bowl during Brady Hoke's inaugural season, helped to engineer an epic comeback against Notre Dame in UTL1, and graduated with with his degree in 2013. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 5th round of the NFL draft, where he still plays as a running back.

That is one of the greatest plays I have ever seen. The stupid baseball game screwed up the schedule. That game was moved to Friday night and I just think that had somewhat of an effect on Michigan. Thankfully we pulled it out in the end. Great game.

Proud to say I was in attendance for his first snap as QB. What an electric crowd after this happened.
Huge play just before the end of the half. This was probably Denard's best game of his college career.
OR...one could argue that this was his best game.
To get us all pumped for the season opener, I'll leave you with this.

I wish they'd give the pom poms for every game. It looks so awesome.

I agree. Makes the stadium look much more alive and intimidating when 110,000 plus are all waving them.

makes it look alive, but intimidating? Yellow pom-poms can only be so intimidating.

Not to mention, when the people in front of you don't have a proper understanding of how to hold/waive them above and slightly in front of themselves, as to not hit (or block the view of) the person directly behind them.

I'm not too concerned that they blow out Hawaii by 60+ points, I just want to see a good functioning offense and stifling defense. And lot's of backup players in the game by the end of the 3rd quarter.

I was actually up working late from home. I'm in Illinois so I've got a one hour time advantage. It' was one of the rare occasions when I'm on my laptop anytime between midnight & 9am or so. Usually somebody nails the "You Are..." thread before I even get my first cup of coffee.
So when #16 is staring me in the face--yeah, I took the shot. Pretty tough to screw that one up. Don't worry, I won't be pouncing at midnight for days #5, #4, #3, #2 or #1. Those are all pretty much no brainers too.

These posts make the run-up to the start of the season so much better, so thank you to everyone that contributes their time and energy into making them.
My one suggestion for next year would be to use current players instead of past legends. I think we all remember the greats, but I think it would be cool if we saw some of the less heralded members of the current squad that might not get to play much, but work every day to help the others on the team acheive greatness.
