A friend of my son's just got out of rehab. He's 15. Before he was born, his father was a heroine addict. He's now clean. But I see this kid, who doesn't have a great support system (a mother with untreated depression, divorced, etc...) and I worry that he won't be able to stay sober. He's a great athlete and that was going to be his way to college, but with this on his record, who knows if that will be possible. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to have a child who is an addict.

I make better decisions than Johnny Manziel. That's how bad his choices are. However I imagine most of the blame belongs to his parents. Who knows for certain though? Maybe it was aliens?

you don't do what he is doing if you are sane. The guy is a like that crane that fell in NY City. He is about to fall very hard and very fast and hopefully he won't take anyone else out.

When your agent dumps you that's a pretty good sign you've hit bottom.  I'll admit I'm curious to see if he can use this to motivate himself to become a better human being.

him leaving college so soon was a big mistake.  Thought he was a true freshman but he was a RS-frosh.  Sumlin would have had to bench him or kick him off by now and that would probably have benefitted him earlier.

I do agree that making decisions that counteract professional opportunities and essentially slamming the door on his football career say that he has a problem.

His agent is probably in the crossroads of wanting to help him with some "tough love" but also realizing from a business perspective there isn't anywhere to go with relation to securing employment in professional football.

He's gonna need to step away from the game for a year or so to work on himself if he even wants a shot in the league again. I just cant see any team (Yes, even Jerry's team) signing him after what just came about (Police are reopening the file).  The problem with "Money Manziel" is that he has had this monster ego from the get go - so he wont do it. He'll just keep denying denying denying.  It's simple. He needs to clean up everything about his image. And if I could make one suggestion to the kid, start with deleting your Instagram account. Just looking at all of the pictures makes me want to punch him in the face. He's a douche-aholic. Get some help kid.

Thus topic is all every one is talking about. The news, sports radio, regular radio. It is annoying as hell. Can't wait for Sunday and the draft so people will have something to talk about. Can Harbaugh please beat this team, tired of going to work and hearing the jack assery.

Great move by the agent, "Well, I can't make any more off him any more, so I should probably just ditch him during the point in his life where he needs people the most. Peace Out."

Not defending Manziel or his actions but DAMN, talk about a betrayal at your lowest point. Gutless.

if you were paying attention you could see that at some point a train wreck would occur.

From a football perspective his style at A&M was running around and lobbing it up.  In terms of character, he's  cocky and self-absorb. He's a man-child who was probably never told no and was always treated like a god until he got to the NFL. He needs to spend some time in jail and or rehab, get plenty of counseling, and hopefully he'll overcome his demons.
