Soccer's equivilent award to CFB's Heisman Trophy is being presented today. I know there are a few in the "mgocommunity" that follow soccer, so I thought I'd 1. Get everybodys thoughts or predictions on who you think might win it.  And 2. Does anybody know if this would be televised?

I am going to say Messi will, which would be his 5th time winning. But part of me wants Neymar, he is my sons sports idol, so I tend to pull for him as well. To me, as long as Ronaldo doesn't win. I just watched his movie / documentary, and it really has made me a fan of whomever he is up against.

I have provided a link below for anybody that might want more info

That's exactly half the matches played this year. I will admit ManU has declined in form over those ten, but don't really know what you want.. Celta Vigo who is 5th in La Liga has scored 10 in their last 10 matches over the same period. It's comparable.

I'll agree. But it's a little known secret that the only country FIFA hates more than the U.S. Is England. UEFA is just as bad. I won't even get into the way Platini treated the English when he was in charge.. England fans have been beat and arrested from Brussels to Milan and everywhere in between.

... because they replicate that dominance at UCL lately.  That includes Atletico Madrid, which is not a goal scoring juggernaut, but a defensive minded, counter attacking team.  These things ebb and flow, but the style of play and quality coming out of La Liga is producing at the CL and UEFA Europa cup the last several years.

Europa Cup: 6 out of the last 10 (and two runners up who lost to Spanish teams in the finals).

Champs League: 5 out of 10 (and 1 runner up losing to another Spanish team).

I'm somewhat biased, but I’d argue that Alexis Sanchez had almost as much impact as any other professional during 2015. He led Arsenal to an F. A. Cup victory last May and a spot in the UEFA Champions League for this season, and he led Chile to its first Copa America title when Chile defeated Argentina in a penalty kick shootout last summer. His hamstring injury has kept him away from play since the end of November, causing him to miss five matches during December 2015. LINK TO VIDEO OF HIS PLAY IN 2015

For the world's most popular sport supported by billions upon billions of dollars, pounds, euros, etc etc... for players who make more money than God...

The best player in the world ONLY gets a freakin' BALLOON for a prize? What if it pops?  What, like -- "oh trust me I won that award in 2016...here are the shards of the balloon, lay them out flat to see what's written on it...see?"

As a City fan, I love Aguero, but he is always injured.  If he can stay healthy, I put him in the tier just below Messi and Renaldo.  Maybe just a bit lower than Suarez.  My favorite player on City is probably David Silva.  He is a clear set up guy and doesn't have the stats to be considered, but that guy, when on form, is as good as it gets from a playmaking standpoint.

Just enjoy this golden age to see some of the players who will eventually be in the top 10 greats of all time.

ps. extra points for Messi not being a flopper and playing the game the right way.
