sleeping under the stands at the old Tulane stadium during a monsoon while at Mardi Gras in 1973.
Never go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras with no money in your pockets.

that might be a draw to a place like Tulane? Having someone who has coached at a school like Michigan. I know he wasn't very successful but he was still here. I don't know if it would or not, but it might.

Worry about your own sorry employment situation, guy.

been fixed.

I would think that if Hoke wants to get back into coaching directly and not take measured steps as through being a position coach or something along those lines, Tulane and even ECU really aren't bad stops. The AAC is probably not a bad conference to be in if you're a coach looking to rebuild a resume.

Brady is 57 years old. Does he really need a resume builder at this point in his career?

Yes he does.

I have no ill will toward the man. He didn't work out here, but he's a good person and appeared to try his best. That happens in any profession, despite due diligence beforehand by the employer and honest effort by the hiree. Let's let him move on with dignity.

Best of luck Brady! He would play Les Miles,no ?

He had a very unfortunate experience here, but had success in other places.
New Orleans would be a nice place to take the next challenge. It's a wonderful city with great history.

Po' boy sandwitches of New Orleans, beware

Put Tulane's program on probation for three years for point shaving... but was a good player for the Cavs.

HMFIC of an elite D1 program. That same universe is the only one where he would be qualified to become top dog of any D1 program. Got a kick out of his statements when let go. Pulled out the same cliches as many terminated coaches go to: "I didn't just suddenly forget how to coach football." This is significant and speaks to his delusional mental state to think that at some point he actually had proven himself to be a coach of the caliber this job demands. As one poster said, let him recruit, but make sure you point out who you want recruited. If not, he might get you a lot of DLmen, for example, but all possessing the same skill set. He is, to be polite, limited personified.

I was listening to the local ESPN radio affiliate here in Raleigh/Durham today. They were talking about how Hoke is the best candidate for ECU. They mentioned his final 5-7 season at Michigan yet still maintained that he was a "good" coach because "look at SDSU and Ball State". They made no mention of Michigan starting 11-2 and getting progressively worse each season thereafter as Hoke put more of his stamp on the program. I really wanted to call in and debate but refrained.

I like Coach Hoke and hope he is successful with his next team, but I find the idea of his preparing for the interview by sleeping on the sofa outside an AD's office hilarious.
