Jabrill Injury Rumor?

Submitted by MGoSwilly on

TIFWIW- Friend of mine who is an alum just sent me a text saying that his relative treated Jabrill Peppers at an Ann Arbor hospital after he punched glass and tore a ligament in his arm/wrist. Apparently out for the bowl game. Still nothing being reported, but just thought I'd pass it along. Apparently he has been seen in a cast around campus.

This is a rumor on Penn State's 247 site. Has anyone heard anything about this?

texted a friend who is still on campus (I graduated last year) about this and she said its true. She started off the text with a sarcastic 'LOL' before telling the story. She doesn't follow football much.

Jabrill had two tweets on Dec. 4 that might link up to elements of this rumor. "Life has a way of humbling you." and "Everything does not take a reaction..... Take a mental note & keep it moving." Let's hope he is on the mend regardless of what caused the wrist/hand injury.

without seriously injuring yourself and/or going to jail.

Personally, I always preferred to abuse my poor trashcan.  I used to kick the crap out of it when I got mad back in college.  It was a big metal trashcan, so it could take quite a bit of abuse, and I could kick it pretty hard without completely destroying it.

I'm older and mellower now, so I no longer feel the need to kick/punch things.  Well, except when Big Ten refs are involved.

LOL! What next....

I guess Jabrill lied to us all.

When he sat for a year due to injury; I guess that didn't bother him that much.

Last I checked he was really frustrated by his injury and wanted to play.

Jabrill!!!! You are critical for us to have in the game man!!!!

Let's hope it's a break (boxer or something in the wrist) and not lacerations.

The nerves and tendons are the most superficial at the wrist, easily severd and difficult to repair (they actually bring in plastic surgeons with microscopes to repair).

Used to work in a hand/arm injury rehab clinic, and glass-punchers fare the worst, ~50% never have a full functional recovery.

I hope he is all right and wish him a speedy recovery. The young man certainly shoulders a lot. Hope he is al right and talks through these issues with the coaches and know his teamamtes are there instead of taking such a drastic measure. This is another reason we need some speedy alternatives to lesson the burden on this young man.

Unbelievable.  If healthy, the guy's body is basically a winning lottery ticket, and he's intentionally putting his arms through glass.  How stupid can you be?

Why would you defend something so stupid? The kid knows the future he has on the line and has talked about it at length. The entire article in the Tribune focused on how focused he is on not messing up. If he did this it's stupid and it's selfish. He's not just some 18 year old kid.

I learned a long time ago not to punch things that were not designed to be punched (shattered hand.)  It sucks that most people need to find out the hard way

My bestfriend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Peppers pass-out at 31 flavors lastnight. I guess it's pretty serious.
