Who's got it better than us?

Submitted by the bee train on

After the last seven years, Harbaugh has this group heading into The Game with a chance (albeit slim) of playing for the B1G Title in his inaugural season. I don't think I've ever been this excited for the future of any athletic team I support. Thanks for a fun season MGoBloggers, hopefully we have 3 more left before it's a wrap!!!!!

Really do. We are on our way to good things. This year has been frustrating simply because we are a few plays from 11-0, as well as a few plays from 7-4. You can see that as a program, we are "re-learning" how to win.
Run game issues scare the hell out of me. Banged up D-line scares the hell out of me. Our linebackers scare the hell out of me. Due to style, Ohio's offense scares the hell out of me. Still think we find a way to win Saturday. But somehow beating these pricks, getting to 10 wins and still not being in the title game feels about right for this team. Close to really good, but one goofy-ass f*** up from something special.

Nobody. I'm happy with nine wins and essentially the same team as last year except Rudock and a healthy Peppers.

That said, it just seems to be State's year. For State to lose next week, we need to play reverse psychology with Dantonio by "respecting" and acknowledging how incredible they are.

Nnnnooooooobody. Especially not OSU. A quick glance at eleven warriors is hilarious. Some fans are so hurt by last night that they don't think their team will win another game this year.

. . . Is all I ever asked for. The Hoopla about the play-offs distorts what would have been viewed as a succesful season for many teams across the country in days gone by. Get off my lawn.

Arizona definitely does not have it better than us. Where are all the posters crying "I'd hate to play RR's Arizona team this year". I still can't get over those posts in September.

Last year this time we were sitting 5-6 with OSU looming. At the start of this year the optimists were predicting 8-4 and the "smart " money 7-5. Myself, I'm just giddy.

Just a reminder that universities are educational institutions first. We are the only school in the world that is highly ranked in most undergrad and graduate programs AND competitive in a ton of varsity sports, including the big two of football and basketball.

So who has got it better than us? NOOOOOOOOBODY!

Didn't the clapping fat man go 11-2 with a Sugar Bowl victory in his first season? Remember the fan base talking about being back? Lets just chill and let it play out! So glad Harbaugh is home, but lets not put the cart in front of the horse.

All I'm saying is that the feeling is all too familiar. DickRod was a dumpster fire, and when Hoke came in and went 11-2, everyone said we were back. All I am requesting is that everyone chill so Karma doesn't come searching for us. Everyone keeps talking about next year, and personally I get worried a bit. Losing our LB's and QB leaves a big ?? Harbaugh hopefully will persevere through that, but don't forget we go on the road for the big rivalry games. I don't feel bad for that statement at all bro, due to cautious optimism

I'm with you. Going back and looking at the comments from Hoke's first year you see the same comments.

Being back is not a one year deal. Being back is doing what MSU & OSU are doing, winning every year with different players, different coordinators / position coaches, beating your rivals, winning in the postseason, and doing it for a minimum period of 3 seasons.

I love Harbaugh and this staff. I believe that we will be back, but it takes more than a season. At seasons end we lose all our LB's, our ever improving QB, and several good role players. Filling these rolls, with unknown commodities, along with a tough conference schedule may add up to a tougher season win / loss wise.

On the flip side, if we are able to groom a good QB, and the LB's step up, we could see a similar season to 2015. I think the playoffs are still a couple / few years away. The good news is that we are on our way, but even if we beat osu and win a bowl game, we will still have a ways to go.

The true test of a team's character is how you handle adversity--both on and off the field. This team has handled and overcome adversity on the field to win in tough situations. They have handled adversity in the form of tough losses with class and determination off the field. The post game stuff shown by OSU players questioning coaching, basically declaring early for the NFL, etc shows a program that has some serious issues. If you lose the lockerroom after one negative experience in a football season, what does that say about the depth of character for their team?

Thought this was going to be a thread about us, I guess it's about Sparty. Yeah, they have it good right now, but I'm happy with where we are too. But MSU fans on my Facebook feed have pointed out, their B Ball team beat the #4 team in Tuesday on a neutral floor, their football team just beat #3 on the road and look headed to the playoffs. We have it good.

Dantonio always gets these crazy situations like us dropping a punt, Oregon overthrowing a wide open receiver, playing in a fucking blizzard, Rutgers spiking the ball on 4th. If teams would not fuck up over and over when playing them and throw on them rather than trying to manball their dline over and over again they'd be a lot worse.
