Edit: Saban being discommoded by Michigan in his backyard....
Before intv with Nick Saban he looks at my #Michigan hat & says "We don't see too many of those around here" #GoBlue
This makes me happy! When you live in Alabama it is so annoyed that I have to listen from Alabama and Auburn fans, co-workers, coaches, and Medias. Even worst cross the street from my home there is a whole family that is Ohio State fan! Yuck!!
Edit : Oh Sh*& I spell Michigan wrong :-X Thank you for catching that.
Alabama would have a camp in Michigan but their weatherman in Mark Richt and they don't have cold weather gear.
A good friend of mine and his wife live in rural Alabama (north of Birmingham) - he was a guest of mine in Ann Arbor at the 2013 UTLII UM:Notre Dame game. As a result of that trip he has a fair amount of Michigan gear which he occasionally wears out and about in his part of Alabama. This is his story from an email he sent:
"Quick note: my wife and I were helping out at the church "trunk or treat" event last night......and I bet there were 2 thousand kids passed by our station! It was cool last night so I had my "M" cap on and my sweatshirt ready, too. At one point in the evening as I was handing out candy to a small child (maybe 5 or 6 years old) the parent stooped down to the little boy and asked the child "what do you say to the nice man?". The child looked up and me and replied "Go Blue!". It was priceless.
maybe not as rare as Coach Saban thinks.....
Here in Huntsville, there are a lot of Michigan fans / bumper stickers / even hats among the engineering crowd! Saban doesn't know what he is talking about but, then again, he doesn't recruit rocket scientists.
