Baseball at Louisville: NCAA Louisville Regional
After pounding regional 2 seed Bradley yesterday, 10-5, Michigan has a much more difficult task today.
Michigan will play regional host Louisville who is the No. 3 national seed in the NCAA Tournament. The game is expected to have a crowd of over 6,000 as Louisville's game last night against Morehead State had that many.
Bradley won the early game today 9-4, eliminating Morehead State and advancing to the second elimination game.
This certainly isn't the first time this Michigan team has faced steep odds. In the B1G Tournament, they knocked off #4 Illinois who had won of 27 of their previous 28 games.
Michigan is arguably the hottest team in the nation right now. Let's see if they can duplicate the magic of the 2007 Nashville Regional where they upset 1 Vanderbilt to win it.
First pitch is at 4pm.
Game is on ESPN3.
should be leading 3-2
Shit, Cronny not doing to well.
anyone else yelling at their TV "DON'T CATCH IT!!!!"

No it isn't. It's one of those super rare plays. Should he have let it fall? Probably. But that's still giving the team another out. Good chance he was going to score anyway.
I agree it was a mistake, but your comment is completely off-base.
it was a terrible decision, no way around that.
Then why the fuck are you watching?

The only thing I'd have my hitters do different is to have more of a downward swing while trying to stay on top of the ball. On this turf and with the wind situation, my lefties would be chopping at the ball looking for line drives and bouncing base hits.
This has been a pretty solid game through and through.

That was really inexcusable.
That catch is just a great play if he doesn't steal third. Every guy who reaches first basically is getting a pass to scoring position on us
did the bad guys get one in their half of the inning?

Still alive! Pinch runner? Steal?
3-4
Michigan will play Bradley tomorrow at Noon in an elimination game on ESPN3.
If they win the elimination game, then what happens?
If they beat Bradley tomorrow, they'd play Louisville after that game. Michigan would have to beat Louisville twice--once tomorrow and a on Monday night to advance to the Super Regionals.
Very tough task. Michigan has only been to the Super Regionals once and even then, they "weren't supposed to be there".
Damn. That sinkerball is pretty nasty. Not hard to see why that guy has a 0.23 ERA
