Michigan taking bids from Nike and Adidas
it appears it's down to Nike and Adidas.

Go nike go
I hate uniformz as much as anyone, but it's not like Nike doesn't make some disgusting pro combat garbage. And their white-on-white-on-white-on-white in this year's basketball tournament was among the ugliest things I've ever seen: way worse than the Adidas's swim trunks. We had fewer uniformzzz when we had Nike because we had Nike 8 years ago. I think we are confusing causation and correlation.

Personally If it were up to me: Polo Ralph Lauren Jerseys, Vinyard Vine Bottoms, Sperry/New Balance cleats #fresh #100emoji #100emoji #100emoji
Cool. We can schedule an away game against Harvard on Martha's Vineyard.

I'm 42. I don't get why these damn kids go cuckoo over the ugliest crap these companies put out. I wonder if any of the fans of the schools like Maryland who seem to change their unis on each drive forget what their team is wearing during a game. Look at Sparty when they put on their "Look at me, I look like something Notre Dame wears!" uniform. So are we the Red White & Blue with Black, purple & pink highlights this week, or the Blue White & Black with Purple, Red & pink chrome?
Just put on a damn jersey & try getting it dirty & bloody.
And if I had a lawn I'd tell you to get off the damn thing. Turn that crap you call music down too!
You are Brady Hoke's pet VIKING #merica

Because I don't let my clothing define me, especially a T-shirt or a hoodie. And yeah, I have a smart phone. Probably before you could afford one yourself. And you know what? I own pieces of Twitter and Instagram. So there. Now get off my lawn.
The fact is that Nike is better than Adidas for almost everything except maybe soccer. The younger crowd doesn't have as much brand loyalty which means we just want the best. And right now Nike is the best.
I think the baby boomers are sick and tired of the new trend of losing... and could give a shit what logo is on the outside of the jersey, I know that I don't.
I am sure they are sick of it. At least they have seen Michigan win more than lose in the Big Ten conference unlike some of us.
don't know what you're talking about. And the devotion to Nike is clear proof of it.
You can't see the foolishness of claiming that a group doesn't understand why the brand matters because they're too brand loyal? It's an epically bad argument.
I don't care who we end up with but Nike has been the clear marketing leader for years and it shows in this thread.
People also need to realize that money doesn't just pop up everywhere. If we possibly leave millions of dollars on the table, where is the money going to come from which is even more important when we have dramatically expanded the expenses on the football team. Will it be advertising in the stadium, cost cutbaks in other sports or what?
I'm not saying they shouldn't switch, but to think it's automatic because of the vote of the athletes is silly. I'm sure they will consider their opinion but the bottom line has to be considered.
It's a bunch of stitched fabric by Chinese laborers.
You believe Nike is the "best" because you've been led to believe they're the best by their marketing hype.
You can get off your high horse. You're no different than the Boomers and their GM station wagons.
That's cool. But there is no need to be so self-righteous about it.
The fact that youngsters are starting to flock to UA because they market "attitude", and not because of any real product difference, shows that they are just as susceptible to following the Brand-herd as any Boomer.
Every generation thinks they're smarter than the previous generations. Except they're not.
Never claimed anything other than the baby boomer generation is more brand loyal to a fault. Don't think that is untrue at all. Not being self righteous. I must have hit a nerve for you.
If it's a really big gap, he can't. But if it's reasonably close, then that's the difference between Hackett and Brandon . . . the mission of the AD is not just to scrape every last dime off the table at the expense of everything else. Other things matter too.
Is there a reason why Michigan needs a third party to supply uniforms? Why not start the Michigan brand? Discuss...

I disagree but am open to evidence. Do you work for Under Armour?

The only pitfall - at least for some people who are decidely partial to brand - of using this strategy is that if you go with Nike, if you look at the size of the largest contracts, you're definitely not doing it for the money unless they offer something way north of the $4.2 million or so (I forget the exact figure) that FSU gets. Florida State is the largest deal they've got out there right now, so far as I remember anyway.
I wonder if, with their change in strategy, Adidas would even go with a contract worth north of $8 million per year again actually. This could be a fun bidding war regardless of brand, if it comes down to something like that.
