More proof from Ray Vinopal
Proof that recruits - and their families - read what we write about them from our very own TOMVH:
Ray Vinopal - "I read what people say about me, I'm going to work my a** off to prove everyone of them wrong. I'm not scared."
In this case it serves as motivation, but in the bigger picture do we really attract players if they see the fan base tearing into recruits before they even step on the field?

EDIT
Sam Webb addressed the issue at the end of his recruiting round up today. Good bit about the atmosphere of Cardinal Mooney football. Worth a listen. Nothing much else, UM making up ground with Ash and Hankins. Webb parrots Hankins saying the opening at Louisville may mean a move by Florida's D Coordinator, which could influence Hankins decision.

Who said he could be a recruit that might fall off BRING THAT SPEED TO AA

Can we start a concerted effort to try to seriously creep out a recruit? Like a "He's so dreamy, I heard he ____" meme? It would be fun to try to get a thread like that as the first hit on google for some guy's name.

He's probably faster/better than a lot of the players we've played at safety this season..

There are assholes and there are mouths. Mouths speak the truth, and assholes fart.
Please don't judge all of us from the actions of a few. Go Blue.

opinion of RR and Tony Gibson over a Rivals/ Scout guy any day.
By the way, if those Rivals/ Scout analysts were any good, wouldn't they have a job with a college/ NFL team as a scout?

Welcome aboard Ray!! We are glad to have ya.

After watching his videos I actually love his upside. He's a tough guy and blazing fast...don't care so much about 40 times b/c that doesn't always translate to field/game speed. He reminds me of another 2** safety recruit that people said was a little too small back in 2007...
Eric Weddle! He only became a beast and is now one of the top safeties in the NFL, also 5'11...

Welcome Ray! Can't wait to see you on the field! Go Blue!

Love the attitude. Really looking forward to seeing you smoke some fools from that position.
Stay healthy and keep your head up. Use all that negative trash to motivate you.

There are a few things that Rivals and Scout cannot really measure. One is heart. I think this guy has a great heart and will work harder than anyone in his class. He is not happy that he is a 2* and will want to prove himself. I would take a ton of those kids and not the prima donna's who belive themselves to be better because they are/were a 5*.
The second is intelligence. This is a kid that could legitimately enroll in any college/university because of his academic ability. I love to see smart players. This is the kind of guy Jim Harbaugh would love and what he talks about when he says that you CAN have it both ways.
Welcome

And you don't have to worry about the kids you describe transferring. I'll go you one step further and say I'd rather have a kid like this who stays hungry, gets better and starts as an upper classman, than a 4 star that plays right away and then transfers.
Stars are great, but there's no substitute for a coaching staff doing it's own homework.

Agreed 100% and that was what I was trying to say on the "light at the end of tunnel" thread, per Brandon Smith. I rather have a kid who's hungry and wants to be there than only looking at the pretty unreliable recruit rankings. Frank Gore was a 3 star recruit. That B. Smith post was my first on here and I got bashed for it lol.
Im psyched for players with real hunger and drive!

Any player who plays for or is committed to Michigan should have our unqualified support, but that doesn't mean we have to pretend that we expect them all to light the world on fire. I don't have the same expectations for Vinopal as I would if say, 5 star Keenan Allen were committed here. I will be rooting my ass off to be proved wrong.

It is reasonable to ask if someone is a good recruit, whether Vinopal or others. However, this is not license to insult them or their family.
Part of the issue with a blog and with the internet is the anonymity allowing posts to be over the line rude. If you can't say something to someone's face, but pop off in an anon public forum, something is wrong. There is cowardice involved when people are willing to dog others but whimper like a wuss the minute they're asked to back up their words.
This is like someone willing to throw beer or coins or bottles at players from the stands, but then, when they're outed and confronted, peeing their pants.
To sum up: I don't have any problem with people questioning whether or not Vinopal is a good fit, or worthy of an offer. I do have a problem with cowards being a douche about it.

blazing speed and great mentality....can't wait to see us get back to press coverage the next few years...watching us get beat up underneath is painful

I can't say I am a talent scout or anything, but he looks impressive on his videos. Good Luck Ray, glad to have you!
