META: no more sexybits, please
Persons of MGoBlog:
Y'all gotta cut it out with the barely PG-13 bewbs stuff. (And for the rare times a woman has intrepidly posted BEEFCAKE in a thread, that too.) I've never liked it much because I think it can be offputting to women, but it wasn't something I wanted to police.
That's got to change, as Google is now actively scanning for that kind of stuff and sending me emails like so:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
This is a warning message to alert you that there is action required to bring your AdSense account into compliance with our AdSense program policies. We’ve provided additional details below, along with the actions to be taken on your part.
Affected website: mgoblog.com
Example page where violation occurred: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/
Action required: Please make changes to your site within 3 business days.
Current account status: Active
Violation explanation
Google ads may not be placed on pages with adult or mature content. This includes, but is not limited to, pages with images or videos containing:
- Strategically covered nudity
- Sheer or see-through clothing
- Lewd or provocative poses
- Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches
For more information about keeping your content family-safe, please review our program guidelines and these tips from the policy team.
-------------------------------------------------------
Obviously losing adsense would be a very bad thing for the viability of this site, so Kate Upton's gotta go. In the future we're going to be deleting this stuff on sight; persistent violators will get docked points.

Offensive, yet delicious.
February 19th, 2015 at 10:51 AM ^
for instilling a set of feelings I've never had at the same time:
1. Gales of laughter
2. Extreme Nausea
3. Absurd interest in the answer to your question
Really strange mixture. Keep up the good work.

Guess I won't be attending many Friday Pos-bangs moving forward...
February 18th, 2015 at 10:13 PM ^
The Friday Pos-bangs are going to go down to like four posts.

I wish this country was more like European countries in that nudity or almost nude people is not a big deal.
February 18th, 2015 at 9:57 PM ^
Oh man, you're taking away my bits?!?
Disappointing.

was during the MSU debacle. Can't imagine it'd be anything but a "sad pizza face"

Are the muppets still clothing optional?

I want to know which post in that thread triggered this note from Google!

I think they were just taken by my overwhelmingly sexy presence. Sorry everyone. My bad.
February 18th, 2015 at 10:02 PM ^
This being the case, posbang and other celebratory threads from here on out will be looked at more closely. Also, there are a few avatars which may need to be reviewed as time permits. I will remind people as I find the avatars but questionable content from certain threads per Brain's post above will be simply deleted as it is found.

Father Brain? So, is Mr. Cook like Mother Brain from Metroid, only like, you know...a father?

Google's old mantra used to be "Don't be evil." Now it'll sell your grandmother ads for meth if it were profitable.

will have to get a new avatar!
February 18th, 2015 at 11:18 PM ^
Yes he will.

google is clearly finding sites that embed third party urls and not individually evaluating, so we can grandfather you in i think.
February 19th, 2015 at 12:54 PM ^
mGrowOld, I think you might still be in violation of the "strategically covered nudity" prohibition. That triangle looks pretty strategic. ;)
February 18th, 2015 at 10:34 PM ^
will be most disappointing

this has been happening for a while, FWIW. It reached a tipping point today when I had to nix five posts in one thread.
February 19th, 2015 at 9:45 AM ^
Sorry I thought the /s was implied. Just trying to make light of the situation. No qualms about cleaning up the board from me.
February 19th, 2015 at 12:18 PM ^
maybe you should create another blog site ... MGo"blue" for the totally unfit posters, and of course the perfectly normal Friday POSBANG sessions !!!
Go Blue!

I'm really not sure what to make of this. Where does this stem from? It's Brian's site, so unless this is what he ultimately wants, how does Google tell him how to run his site?
February 18th, 2015 at 10:53 PM ^
There is also a fair amount of evidence that Google is very evil in how they deal with websites that use their ad program. So F Google. Regarding Brian there are not a lot of options to generate ad revenue. He does a great job and already fought and won a war against DB. I don't think a war with Google is in his and his readers best interest. It can't be won at this point in history anyway

February 19th, 2015 at 12:02 AM ^
I know how to search Google, thanks for the tip (no pun intended). I'm in the "high paying" field of social work so pardon me for not knowing such things in this arena.
Don't blame Brian at all after better understanding this. Poor Carlos
February 19th, 2015 at 10:03 AM ^
That said, I think it's a good policy. If we make this like a Jr. High boys locker room we can freeze out some female fans.

I'm a female Michigan alum/fan. I, for one, am happy to see us get re-focused on actually talking about Michigan sports.
It's Brian's blog and he can make the rules.

Puritan Big Brother is the worst, I think.
February 18th, 2015 at 10:57 PM ^
Agreed. The Puritans have done a lot of damage to America, but somehow we continue to push a lot of their agenda.
February 18th, 2015 at 10:59 PM ^
Finally. I can't wait to hear from the 15-year-olds on the board:
"BUT WHY DOES LOOKING AT SOME BITCHEZ ASS WITH A THONG ON OFFEND YOU JUST SCROLL DOWN IT'S SO SMALL YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE IT GET A BETTER JOB WITHOUT A DICK BOSS WTF GET BACK TO WORK WHY U ON MGOBLOG???"
If we want to find barely-clothed women, there's plenty of very easy ways to do that on the internet.
February 19th, 2015 at 11:32 AM ^
Speaking of avatar changes...
Methinks yours needs to go.
February 18th, 2015 at 11:02 PM ^
I'm a mod on another forum, and we have the same issues with Google. In fact, we have to censor the most ridiculous words in order to keep Google from pulling the ad revenue plug on us. Words that contain what we consider way tame: stripe is now *****e, Arsenal is ****nal (lol), and so on. Of course swear words are out. My favorite is pronouncement is ****ouncement, because everyone loves pr0n.
February 18th, 2015 at 11:19 PM ^
What about the game day open threads?
When LSA2000 is counting the number of F-words and S-words and compiling stats about the above-mentioned BAD WORDS?
February 18th, 2015 at 11:08 PM ^
This leaves me little choice but to ask PornHub to start covering Michigan sports.
February 18th, 2015 at 11:16 PM ^
uncovering, right?
