Super Bowl Pickin' and Grinnin' + Where Will You Watch

Submitted by xtramelanin on

Mates,

Its Super Bowl Eve and it's time to pick the winner and the over/under.

New England is a 1 pt. favorite over Seattle

The over/under is 47 1/2

Make your decision.  I want the NE Brady's to win, but I have a feeling Seattle is going to win by 7+ points.

Also, where will you be watching the game?  Big party with friends, home with mgowife/girlfriend/boyfriend (or all 3), fancy food and drink?

Who among us has been to a Super Bowl, when and where?

or is this like one of those riddles?  i thought each team is guaranteed one possession if the first team kicks a field goal.  otherwise the game can end on the first possession if its a safety (obviiously for the D) or a TD for the O, no extra point needed.   or is this where brady shoots the three, gets fouled, and the 'and one' is tacked on?

I'd like to see Brady win another title, but I'm taking the Seahawks by double digits. We saw what they did to a high octane offense in last year's Super Bowl, and honestly, if the Seahawks can play like absolute shit against the Packers and still win, I just don't see them losing tomorrow.

I think the Seahawks come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow. It won't be as lopsided as it was last year, but I'm taking the Seahawks by 10.

Watching at home with some white chicken chili, Spotted Cow beer, and with family. Go Pats. Will be sporting my Michigan hat.

Deep in the fourth quarter in the red zone, the Pats need to convert and Tommy Boy runs the read option.  Fucking nobody is expecting it.  Touchdown.

Will it be enough, is the question.

NE in a blowout, I hope. I'll be watching from a hotel room in Middletown Ohio. Or if our apartment hunt is successfully concluded today I'll listen on XM radio as I skid along the Indiana shoreline back to Illinois.

Pats 35 - 17. Don't think Seattle will be able to keep up offensively.

IMO, too many people are making the mistake of projecting what happened last year on to Brady.

Sherman and Earl Thomas are banged up. NE has a solid D and better coach plus Brady is probably the best QB in the history of football.

on attending a friend's SuperBowl Party (he bought a new 60" for the game), but thanks to the weather forecast won't be going, even though it's only about 17-18 miles away.  Every weather forecast I'm seeing in this corner of Michigan is shitastic, one South Bend TV station this morning saying 10-15" widespread with some getting up to 18", and considerable blowing and drifting starting late this afternoon thru the overnight.  Add in a little bit of lake effect to bump up the snowfall totals, no thanks, I'll watch it here at home on my 52" Plasma that I bought just a year ago.

Besides, I have plenty of refreshments here, having picked up a 6 each of Founders Porter and Bells Two Hearted with the intentions of  sharing at that party I'm skipping.

But dinner first, immediately followed by Michigan Basketball vs. State.

As for the SuperBowl, I'm predicting New England 31-Seattle 20 but wouldn't be surprised to see it go down to the final play(s) before it's decided.

My next door neighbor (thank goodness what with the weather here in northern Ohio) is from Boston and hosting a party.

I only bet football once a year (unless I'm in Vegas) and today's the day. I've got the Pats -1.5 for $500 and a Pats/under 47.5 parley for $200.

I'll be watching in The Cave with friends and family and 118" of HD goodness.

I'l be going with the Seahawks, since I've lived here in Seattle since 1992.

We're having a blizzard here in Chicago (literally -- they announced the blizzard warning an hour ago) so I'll be at home hoping the wind doesn't knock the power or the cable out.  Fortunately there's a 7-11 across the street so in a little bit I'll trek over for munchies and bunker down.

Looking forward to a Pats win, say 31-17.
