Fox Sports has taken the time to provide us with an in depth analysis of the dumbest fan bases in American sports.

1. Alabama

2. Kentucky

3. The Ohio State University

4. Arkansas

5. Notre Dame

My personal favorite line: "Ohio State is the most SEC-like fanbase in the country that's not actually in the SEC."

I currently live in Alabama. This article is spot-fucking-on. I went to the Bama-Miss St game back in Nov. We spent some time counting Bama items on cars--23 was the high. 23 pieces of Bama gear on one fucking truck. There were numerous with more than 10

I happened to be in Lexington during the last two NCAA Tournaments.  When Michigan was set to play Louisville I had drinks lined up for days.  The next year was brutal, if it wasn't for my friends (UK fans and alum as well)  I would probably have been in a worl of hurt.  

Yeah being in their town I understand some shit talking and I take it with a grain of salt.  It was after the game where things got physical.  Of course alcohol was a factor but that no excuse.  Luckily I brought a change of clothes because there is no game worth me going to jail over.  It wasn't all bad and I respect the history of UK but these kids are not that bright to me as an outsider.  One kid at this place called "The Other Bar" gave me a rundown on how they are the best and have been for years.  I asked him about losing to Robert Morris in the NIT and he said that didn't count because of the Noel injury and losing kids to the draft.  I told him he sounded more like a Sparty fan then a UK fan.

Generally speaking they are not that bad and they can be kind of fun.  Every game is a big deal to them and the atmosphere can be fun if you into the campus bar scene.  I do see how they are on this list, they are surely not misunderstood.

I'd rather see a list of the "smartest" fanbases, since that would require actual work by a writer.  That said, nobody on that list really surprises me.

I live in Westerville, Ohio a suberb of Columbus I would put OSU fans #1. I don't see how there not #1 on this list hard to imagine a dumber fan base. Somebody post this thread on eleven warriors please.

We don't seem to care whether an MSU or OSU fan is an alumnni or not . In fact we assume that the entire state of Ohio is OSU territory ( a good assumpton ) and condemn them all . What is the purpose of calling out non-alumni ?

GIven MSU's history of crappiness(aside from a period in the 60s and 70s when they were really good.. and now of course..) MSU has a bigger percentage of fans that are alumni than Michigan does. This angers a lot of MSU fans because they feel like they're "true fans" while many Michigan fans don't really have a connection to the university other than liking the football team. 

You mention OSU, but truthfully, OSU fans don't really care whether or not a Michigan fan attended the university or not. OSU fans prefer to use scUM, meatchicken, and tsun when referring to us/our school.
