This kid has serious "fan favorite" potential for sticking with us through all of this. The same goes for the rest of the recruits who stay on board despite having other opportunities.

When you're the only recruit left, it's not hard to be the most loved...

Notable Mr. Footballs from their respective states that Michigan has had include Charles Woodson and Clayton Richard.

Still, Henne was the MAN in '04

Well he does kinda look like Spike, right?
And the starting job is definitely wide open.

No, he isn't going to start at QB next September. Yes he is enrolling early.

Although your assesment is most logical, it's way too early to have any idea right now. Depends on who the new coach is & scheme. Also significant is how Morris responds to 3rd OC in 3 years.
Congrats to Malzone

Who will start?

Forgot how crappy Brother Rice's gym is. Good for him, though. Congrats Malzone!

My middle school gym was so old it had earthquake bolts in it

Hopefully he has some classmates to throw to.

1. He has a lot of potential, especially when he concentrates 100% on football (no baseball)
2. I don't think we would want to go through a quarterback decommit right now with only Morris and Speight in the fold.

Congrats Alex!! Can't wait to see you suit up in maize and blue! (Please don't decommit)

I like him already. 100% committed to the school, regardless of who the coach is. I doubt he'll start next year, but he's exactly the kind of recruit we want representing the M.

I'm delighted that Malzone sticks with Michigan.
With all due respect to players who committed and are now gone, or at least waiting to see whom they will be playing for, I'm not sure you can blame them. The relationship between player and position coach is a big deal.
I also believe that unless the CC goes to hell, Michigan will bring in someone in a position to make the program successful. If Harbaugh/Miles or another top name coach comes on board, several of the kids who left may well be back.

In a new system, everyone starts out equal. Malzone will have his chance to start early. At a school like Michigan, where Rick Leach and Chad Henne succeeded as freshmen, he will have the same chance as everyone else.
I have a feeling he knows that, too.

He looks like he's 30 already.
The man to his left look like a supervillan with an enormus pre-frontal cortex...I bet he's very organized.

He gets it. We need more mature kids that make the proper evaluation of the total University package and then commit ... His quote ..
You have to commit to the school, not a coach. The college coaching carousel is crazy with coaches. It's crazy. Last year was crazy and this year it's going to be even more crazy."
To those that left ... take notice. You will be replaced. No worries.
