John U. Bacon on ESPN Sportscenter at 9:05pm EST

Submitted by Simps on

Bacon will be on Sportscenter at 9:05pm to discuss the Michigan situation. Thought some people here might be interested.

He posted this on Twitter. (Can't embed tweet on mobile)

Edit: here's the link he posted in the tweet http://espn.go.com/video/sportscenter

So I'm not sure if it's on the ESPN news live showing of Sportscenter at 9pm or if it'll just be a clip at the above link.

Edit 2 Summary: thinks Hoke may be fired tomorrow.

Asked about his legacy and he said Hoke is well liked but with a mediocre record.

Asked about who he wants as the next coach and he said Jim Harbaugh emphatically.

Smugly asked about chances Michigan lands Jim or Les and he responded that Jim was trickier but he quoted Les from one of his books saying "I'll never say no to Michigan"

Asked for percentages of next coach he said 51% Jim Harbaugh, 25% Les Miles and 24% for the rest of the world.

Well if home is fired tomorrow, jim will be asked tomorrow or Wednesday at his presser so we'll be hearing from him soon. My dark horse is John Harbaugh. He was asked a while back and gave a politically correct answer, Iike he supported Brady Hoke, etc. we'll see how it all goes.

Did he work the word "schadenfreude" into the conversation? I hope not...he used it a couple times before and then Michigan fans misused/misapplied it a millions times since then.

I'm just thinking back to early 2008, when RichRod had just been hired ... and Terrelle Pryor came to the basketball game at Crisler ... and everybody was chanting his name ... and all of us spent weeks on end waiting for Terrelle to pick a college, praying it would be us ... and we were filled with such hope, and promise, and excitement.

I just want to go back in time and punch my 2008 self in the dong for being so stupid about everything.

And here we are in 2014 waitnig for Jim Harbaugh to pick a team, praying it will be us ... and we are filled with such hope, and promise, and excitement.

Let's hope we don't want to go back in time in 2020 and punch our 2014 self in the dong for being so stupid about everything.

JUB is a very good reporter.

He's not that accomplished as a mind reader or fortune teller, which he sometimes tries to be.

Your anxieties for 30 days and let it play out. I love UM. But, honestly, BH will win 10 with the talent coming back. And anyone else might win 12 and a rose to the final four. It's a classic win win. So dial it down and enjoy the show.

Thank you, well said! I love the idea of Harbaugh or Miles as much as the next person. But if Hoke is given another year, I wouldn't be disappointed. This roster is going to win some games next year. A lot more, then some on here are predicting. Let the process play out. Say what you want about Hoke, he has been rebuilding this roster with some good talent. When he got here, we were limited. He is a great guy, and a great ambassador of the university. I've read on here a few times, that Hoke won the Sugar Bowl with Rich Rods guys. Somebody still had to lead those guys! What happens if somebody else wins next year with Hoke's guys? The man is missing one piece right now, in my opinion.

Dial it down? So tell me how you really believe Hoke would win 10 games next year because of this roster? He should have this year with the roster! He's only gonna get worse here if retained. He's not meant to be our coach. He's a great guy and recruiter. He just doesn't have that fire in him to get this machine going in the right direction.
