Kansas' AD has the balls to fire an incompetent coach. And yet ours will undoubtedly come out with a defiant statement of support for Hoke, give him a 7 year extension, and proclaim This is Michigan.

Yes. Yes it will be.

Brandon is going to use the 'Morris incident' to consolident his power and use Hoke as the scapegoat (which he is anyway) for the shit show Brandon has created.  Brandon will be on the phone all morning with the big donors and power players of Michigan football making sure they understand how outraged he was at the Morris handling and that Brady should go.  The result being Brandon stays in power with stronger allies than before.

I believe he is that much of a weasel.

Today is also the 1 year anniversary of Lane Kiffin being fired at USC. The day has a bit of an ominous feel to it, though I feel like that's almost wishful thinking in that it would require competence from the people in charge at Michigan.

Pudding Pants isn't done; he will end up an AD at a small school. He probably could competently and successfully lead a search for a head football coach. One that wouldn't finish with a Yabba Dabba Lose type character. Now that I write this...

Doeren's a Kansas native and was on KU's staff for three years under Mangino. I think he's somebody that would warrant consideration from U-M if Hoke is let go.

...if Kansas sits the next one out. Understands that, it's Kansas, it's not going to be good. hire someone to a 3 year/$2.5 million deal and just suck it up for 3 years while paying their next coach less than $1 million per.

Or go find someone who's willing to take even less, but with really high incentives...that way if you do happen to win, you're paying someone his worth. Mangino would come back for 3 years and his university ID reactivated for his meal plan, wouldn't he?

The press release is already written for you just change the names. "I normally do not favor changing coaches mid-season," Zenger said. "But I believe we have talented coaches and players in this program, and I think this decision gives our players the best chance to begin making progress right away. "I appreciate what Coach Weis did with several facets of our football program," Zenger continued. "But we have not made the on-the-field progress we believe we should. I believe new leadership gives our coaches and players the best chance to make a fresh start."

I think Notre Dame is still paying him and now Kansas will pay him not to be there.  I wish I could fail as well as Charlie.  The only one better at failing is Kiffin.
