MOD EDIT - Changed the title to something, well, more coherent? I don't know. It's better now, and that's what is important - LSA

His Dudeness

We should really strip his scholarship offer for daring to look around after committing because we are a program that is RICH in TRADITION and WINNING. How dare he. Process'd Hoke'd Winning'd

You see how stupid it is now, right?

By "it" I mean the whole Hoke thing.

If this season does indeed play out as 2010 did I wonder who will play your role on the board as the "staunch defender" of Hoke when everyone closes ranks and screams for his dismissal?

FWIW I have always admired how you stood there and took shot after shot after shot for defending Rich and never waivered in your support.

I don't know if it's the Chad Carr perspective and I'm no Brady Hoke defender (on offense, anyway)...but I lived through the god damned tire fire that was 50 plus points against Illinois with RichRod along with the stuffed beaver, Gerg's hair etc.. Mattison's defense is getting to where Rod's offense was with Denard.

The team is 2-2 right now (with obvious losses to Power 5 oppostions and looked like crap, I get it) but I'm willing to stay open to the idea of these guys winning some games and turning things around. I'll reserve my judgement on them (and my potential for renewal (something you know a little bit about) based on the performance, the direction of the program, Brandon not clusterfcuking things up any worse etc.

Reading about little Chad Carr and his issues kind of refocused my anger/irritability with the program. Things need to change on offense. Brandon needs to go...but I'm open to give these kids and these coaches the season.

Sadly, in the past decade we've all suffered through worse (Horror, Toledo, Illinois 50 plus, Gerg etc.) so I'm willing to see if they can right this thing. If not...pull out the cheque book Dave Brandon or it all blows up.

Just to be clear I was also a staunch RR defender, albiet not as committed at His Dudeness although I made it to the Mississippi State game before throwing in the towel.  I will say however that if i knew that Hoke was going to be the "upgrade" I'd have probably stayed in the trenches with Dudeness a bit longer and screamer for the money for a new DC instead of an entirely new coaching staff.

That being said I do NOT want Hoke to fail and I do NOT want to go through the whole coaching search bullshit again - espcially if Brandon is leading it.  I want Hoke to make it cause he's got several very admirable qualities: good recruiter, loves the University, runs a clean program and gets seemingly top shelf assistants (or at least we pay them like they are anyways).  He just needs to win.  And I do NOT think either Harbaugh nor Miles will come here at this point so any change looks to me like another possible downgrade and I just dont think I can take another one of those again.

And you're 100% right about Chad Carr putting all of this nonsense into focus.  I'm 55 but Chad and I share the same desease and I cant even imagine a child having to go through it - it absolutely breaks my heart and I was proud of how the team responded.

i think getting shutout for the first time in 50 years is up there with giving up 50 to illinois in OT, if not worse.

that said, i was sticking by RR too until the bowl game.  zero improvement on D against a one-dimesional offense with a month of prep proved total incompetence.  plus the raging fanbase.

our offense is quickly proving the same.  better see significant development/impovement over the next several weeks.

i think hoke and funk need to reread Bo's book.  "football is about blocking and tackling".   we do one pretty well.  the other is the worst.

Commits starting to look elsewhere.  Unfortunately, there's nothing the program can do about it right now except win damn games.  They can't fire a coach mid-season.  That would be worse from a recruiting perspective.  Hopefully, things will turn around and we'll be able to keep most of the class.

These visits are hardly unusual. I've seen numerous reports over the last few weeks of players committed to one school taking official visits somewhere else.

Why do they occur? How about a once-in-a-lifetime chance at a free, 48-hour visit to a college campus where you're treated like royalty?

And I'm not saying that this is unusual. It just seems a bit odd to me that the institution would go through with the visit if the recruit has already committed to another program and hasn't given any indication that has changed. Unless that's been done privately.

I'm not saying he's wrong to do it.

great school.  He said that when he committed.  Obviously, he has other motives.  He commits to a coach and not the school.. See yah.  Gone and glad.  Sick of the drama and lack of integrity.  A hand shake means nothing anymore.  What kind of kids have we created?
