Former Michigan receiver Csont’e York, dismissed from the team last month for his role in an assault captured on video that left a man with a shattered jaw, has enrolled in another university.
York, charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of assault or assault and battery stemming from an incident July 18 outside an Ann Arbor bar, is enrolled at the University of Toledo. His name appears in the school’s online directory.
A spokesman from the Toledo athletic department confirmed York’s enrollment but said it’s unclear what his status is with the Rockets football program. He has to sit out this season because of transfer rules.
“We are aware that Csont’e York has enrolled as a student at the University of Toledo,” the athletic department official said in an email to The Detroit News. “He is not on athletic scholarship. His status with our football program will be determined at a future time.”

I hope his incident becomes a weird blip in an otherwise successful life/career.

It's curious that no one says this for Ray Rice.

Gosh I can't remember where I read it but back when Michigan announced they scheduled Appalachian State again in 2011, I remember reading that Michigan has tried to get Toledo on the schedule and Toledo wants no part of it.
Smart move. I think they'll play again eventually, though.

Of course they will. Hard to turn down the Big House murder money.

Good for him. Seriously. I hope he rebounds to have a great career and gets his degree.

It's nice to see he is going to school somewhere. I hate when you see a player get in trouble and he is never heard from again. Get that degree!

I still hope he pays a price for what he did (beyond getting kicked off the Michigan football team). It was a cowardly, harmful act.

I hope he realizes the chance he blew at the University of Michigan and subsequently straightens his life out. A lot of "college education" happens outside of the classroom and away from books.

Hopefully he gets things in line.
Best of luck

i'd wager that there's a good kid in there somewhere - brady doesn't usually recruit bad kids.
i wish him the best.

Sorry no. Anyone who thinks it's fun to play the knockout game with innocent people, especially Michigan students whos' jaws get broken in 3 places, is not the kind of guy you circle back to with the "I'd wager there's a good kid in there somewhere." I mean, perhaps it could be rationalized as an abberant moment of inner rage of a troubled kid, but this was a kid blessed with a Michigan scholarship, going to great university with a full ride.
That kid's dead to me and should be to anyone affiliated with UM.

In the "knockout game," a criminal goes out intending to hit an innocent person. That is in contrast to York's crime which was apparently spontaneous, with less than a minute of premeditation.
