Unofficial/"My Best Guess" 2014 Fall Depth Chart (2.0)
A few of notes...
- This is based off the final 2013 depth chart, natural progression, the spring depth chart, fall chatter, and some of YOUR comments from 1.0 (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/unofficialmy-best-guess-2014-fall-depth-chart)
- This isn't projecting "by the B1G season" or where guys finish the year
- This thread isn't about my opinion...feel free to add your own! What we've done in the past is sort of moderated ourselves and come up with our own MGoPrediction until the official depth chart is released (so based on discussion in the thread, parts of this will change to reflect the group) - it's also not predicting the first game because there may be suspensions or motivational ploys from the fall/fall camp that take effect in the early game...really this was always to help with the NCAA Football video game series, obviously things change game-to-game

Or something like that...and that was 2-3 years ago. He was only around a few months after I started posting. I'd say it was fall 2011.
I just know for awhile people used to call me em0 until they just accepted that this is my thing...just like alternate jerseys and team gloves are what get Wolverine Devotee off at night.
People gave him shit for the longest too, now everyone just let's him do his thing and knows there's no point in knocking it. If you enjoy the topic, post away, but if you're there to troll him...a bunch of posters will now jump your shit for it. I personally think that's pretty cool.

Wasn't Godin starting at 3T last night?

But again...one practice isn't going to change everything for me. It's enough to keep an eye on. But I'm not going to assume that it's anything more than one practice.
Tom Strobel started the 2012 Spring Game. Tom Strobel almost never played last year.
It happens all the time, random guys move up or in...sometimes it's motivation, sometimes it's injury, sometimes it's a experienced player and they know the starter so they want to get a younger guy more reps and prevent injury.
Everyone makes a big deal about a scrimmage, but those folks have to understand that a scrimmage is the most uncontrollable part of practice.
So if you have Countess with a nagging groin or Kalis with a bad back...you're not going to put them out there for extended reps in a scrimmage when guys are going 100mph trying to earn playing time. That doesn't mean during tomorrow's practice when it's drills, 7 on 7, and more controlled that they won't be going at it with the first team.
If I'm a coach, I'm limiting any star, experienced senior or injured starter in a scrimmage. You can go full go in everything else. But I don't want you out there when I can't control everything like I can in a drill, a 1 on 1 rep, a teaching situation, even 7 on 7.

That kid has the ability to score everytime he touches the ball. And I feel he'd thrive in that position. Lots of space and only a few to beat.
That being said, Canteen needs to see the field.

with two to beat.
So again, threat to score. Potential.
But I entirely get your point.

I can wholeheartedly say that I will NOT be sending in my thoughts or suggestions to the coaching staff if that is your concern.
So the coaches will certainly handle the depth chart. Mr. Yost will have no say whatsoever. That said, as a fan and a member of this community, I'll continue to share my thoughts on the depth chart among other parts of the Michigan football team --- particularly since this is a fan blog dedicated to Michigan athletics.

I also think there is the illusion that all those who played in the practice will not redshirt. Moe Ways had some good catches but I don't think that automatically qualifies him for playing this year. With Darboh and Chesson being the leaders in seniority Ways could definitely redshirt. Speight definitely redshirts.
Stribling had a lot of good coverages last year, just couldn't make the play at a couple of key moments....I bet that won't happen this year.
I see so many position groups where the 2 is pushing the 1. Even at QB where I'd say Gardner is your starter, if he looks wobbly, gets hurt, or throws a couple of picks, I'd say Morris is ready to jump right in (hopefully not like Dantonio putting in a cold QB in Maxwell vs ND for the final series last fall). But I have confidence Morris can drive the team down the field without a lot of nail biting.
Mone looks like he could play but you have Pipkins and Hurst right there. Ryan looks good in pursuit everywhere but Morgan could drop right in.
There are always going to be 1s and 2s but having them close together I think bodes quite well for an entire season of play. Injuries and fatigue are real, and having the playing level stay high no matter who is in the game is a key ingredient for success imo.
Wile looks good, Allen needs practice to make perfect holding. Dileo set a high standard.
