Supposedly, 3 starters, 1 backup

again, rumor, but "Hearing Moore (backup LB), Ishaq (starting DE), Daniels (starting wideout), and Russell (starting CB)... FWIW"

UPDATE

Leading story is a female tutor doing players' homework in exchange for....services.  If true, players will likely be expelled.  Also potential for vacating 2012 "Return to glory" version 5.0 season.

UPDATE #2

The four alleged players were not seen at ND practice today, which is the first official reporting suggesting some truth the rumors.

Daniels was out for the spring and wasnt taking first team reps this fall.  Chris Brown and The Admirals boy will be plenty useful on the field.  Robinson catches everything thats thrown his way.  Torii Hunter Jr and Amir Carlisle will fill in WR holes just fine.  There is plenty of depth there.

Now would be a good time to put money on over 7.5 wins for Michigan at -160 while it still stands. Really don't see how we lose 5 games in the regular season this year, makes that bet extremely tempting to put a lot of cash on. Or now under Notre Dame's 9.5.

Well it sounds like a starting CB and a rotational WR are going to be the big misses.  So if we lost Countess and say Chesson but were still playing at home would it sway you from a win to a loss.  Tough to tell.  I do think of course all things being equal this will move the needle.  Of the 3 tough road games I think ND was always going to be the easiest because frankly aside from 2011 ND and UM have been on very similar paths of meh.  And we have beaten them even during our down years unlike MSU or OSU.  Would be nice to see Hoke get a signature win there to close out the series.

Daniels was more important than that.  He had 49 catches for 745 yards last year.  By comparison, Devin Funchess had 49 catches for 748 yards last year.  Their leading returning receiver had 15 catches.  ND is going to miss Daniels.

The rumor first surfaced around noon and by 3 ther'es already talk of vacating 2012, four starters are gone, Yahoo is investigating, and this is being compared to the UNC scandal.

A lot of Domers are in for a heart attack when they get home from work and check their favorite ND blog

I would love to see them lose their 2012-2013 seasons. Make them slide further down the all-time win chart and lose the pct title they hold by a nose hair.

ND, being ND, will probably wait to comment until the very end of the day today. Which happens to be a Friday in the middle of August: the news-cycle graveyard.

Rumors spread like wild in the aftermath of breaking news like this.

I'll wait a few weeks before I believe anything happens to ND other than a self-imposed 1 year bowl ban and some lost practice time

KeiVarae Russell, DaVaris Daniels and Ishaq Williams.

What were the odds that Mary Pat or Mary Kate was going to spell all three names correctly?

I'm sure this wasn't a problem for Brady Quinn.
