Martell Webb signed by Browns
Felt it was board worthy and I'm bored so I'm posting it. Former UM TE Martell Webb was picked up by the Browns today.
If you're saying "who?" it's because he played for us during the very forgetable 2007-2010 period only totalling 9 receptions for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns in an offense that didn't really feature tight ends.
He has bounced around a few practice squads but hopefully he finds a role for Cleveland.
Keep up the hard work, and good luck!

Seth will certainly be happy about Webb signing with the Browns. It solves one of his fantasy football/draftageddon problems.

my lasting memory of Martell Webb are his teammates busting his chops over the size of his nostrils.

Did some things well, but never really had the ball thrown at him much. Good luck Martell !

Memory (confirmed by a quick check) says he was a four star on Rivals--glad even though his Michigan career didn't include big stats that he is finding success in the league. And yes, I think a kid who registered few stats at a non-O-Line position that makes it onto practice squads is finding success.

In comparison league minimum for active roster players in 2013 was 405k.
All in all, 6 figures for scout team is a good living, I just wanted to clarify.
I guess I'd take 100k to get beat around all week. I wonder what the concussion stats are on practice squad guys compared to active players.

Martell was in the wrong place at the wrong time, roster wise... at Michigan. Had he played under the Bo/Mo/Carr offense, he would have been known as a great TE. Guy has talent.
It'll payoff!!
One of the most under utilized talents we've had in the past 10-15 years. He along with Butt would be a FORCE on this team.
He wasn't featured as a receiver much, but he was an excellent H-back club-type substance.
I've wiped most of the 2010 MSU game from my memory, but I've retained the clip of Webb dragging a hapless Johnny Adams into the end zone like he was a child.

Saw this scroll across the bottom of TV last night, I had to do a double take as I hadn't seen the name in a while. I'm ashamed to say, I thought "wait did he play for michigan? or am I confusing that name with someone else?"

I knew that Martell Webb tattoo would pay off eventually.
