OT: Top Party school....is...
Syracuse! (Source: The Princeton Review) I wonder how long it'll be before they get an invite to the B1G? /s Congrats to 4 other conference schools by cracking the top 10. Link: http://money.msn.com/investing/post--syracuse-named-nations-top-party-school
Number of bottle returns (ok I guess that only works in refundable states)? Kegs purchased?
that they polled a sample of students to determine that, plus other top lists, such as most beautiful campus, stone-cold sober campus, etc.
Is that you?
I want to make soooooooooo many off-color jokes right now.
It seems like a lot of the *amateur* porn that feature *college* participants seems to take place in WVU dorm rooms. Looks like WVU paraphanelia on the walls. So I've heard.
... but how any school not named Florida St. is even on the list is beyond me. I spent quite a few vacations down there visiting friends, and it isn't even close compared to Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois (all top 10). I mean, Illinois? really?
In my job, I always tell my team to look at the results of your analysis. If it doesn't pass the sniff test, your inputs need to be reviewed. This methodology does not pass the sniff test for me.
having visited the campus a few times, there isn't a whole lot to do up there BESIDES drink. So...
I have to concur. Picked my wife up there once after she was at a conference and, man, is that city a whole lotta nothing. She was there for about 3 days and was DYING to get out of there.
Yeah, any list that says Syracuse has the #3 sports scene on campus is a bit dubious. I'm sure they drink a lot up there, but it's probably because they all realized that they're trapped in a freezing-cold upstate school for most of the year and when they do come to the city they realize the rest of the world doesn't care that they played football at some mid-level NJ HS 3 years ago.
Football has been tough for Syracuse lately, although they are improving. Basketball wise, there might not be many programs that can claim as much success in the past few years. Yes no national titles, but final fours and elite eights.
And 92-19 in the past 3 years with multiple #1 rankings. Not to mention averaging almost 11K more fans per game, and they had more fans at their midnight madness than when the Crisler Center is full.
Have to also mention their lacrosse team, which is the single elite lacrosse team historically.. 22 straight final fours and and 11 national titles on 18 tries.
By all accounts Jim Boeheim is a pretty likeable guy so I can't hate on Cuse. And man, that Jordan Morgan dunk at the end of our Final Four game vs them is one of my greatest moments as a Michigan fan
Not sure about that "all acounts" part.
On my account, anyway, he's a decent guy. I've had very little contact with him, but I've had some, and yeah, he strikes me as a decent guy.
GERG's been gone for a while now.
No Arizona schools? Yeah, right.
It was biggest party school. Not hotest chicks school but point taken.
Seriously though these lists do make me laugh. It's like "hotest Victoria Secret model" or "unhealthiest thing to eat at Burger King". It's college so virtually ALL schools with a few exceptions could lay claim to the honor. Let's face it - anywhere that's largely populated by both men and women, 18-22 years old,, living without parental supervision for the first time where drugs and alcohol are readily available would be a fantastic party.
I thought I was the top party school.
How about a school like Arizona State? How does that not even make the list? That's just wrong! Lehigh over ASU?
What happened to poor Sparty? It used to be the only thing they could "hang their hat on." Well, except maybe for producing future Monsanto employees...
I will never take any such list seriously if they do not have ASU listed number 1. That "school" is insane
is going to be heartbroken when he finds out Staee didn't make the top 20
They don't have Colorado on there either. I'm guessing they fall under the party professionals category like the Arizona schools.
I was 18 and took a year to travel and somehow ended up there and that was a good year.
Maybe I'm not up on the party scene but downtown is never overly crowded and most good bars are full of grad students looking to have a good time and not be too crazy.

Has his plusses and minuses. In my interactions with him he's been actually down to earth.

Take that, Ohio U. And that other Ohio. And Dayton.
Yes, we might suck in football (as many of you will get to see live and in person), but we know how to have a good time.

Syracuse's Chancellor Kent Syverud is, according to one Syracuse University Sports Blog, about to go all Dean Wormer on the students. LINK
Could it be that enhanced partying is what the Syracuse students (even those who weren't there during the 2005-2008 football seasons) need to make them forget the awful stench of the Gergian Error of Syracuse Football?
Hard to believe that Syracuse once was the site of the NCAA Hockey Tournament. Of course, it was in the days when only four teams made the tournament (two from the East and two from the West) and it was NOT known as the Frozen Four.
