OT - Jets sign Vick, release Sanchez
Vick was a free agent without a home until the New York Jets gave the quarterback a chance, signing him to a one-year deal worth $5 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Vick officially signed with the Jets on Friday.
(On his way out of Philadelphia, Vick offered a farewell letter to Eagles fans via philly.com.) As a result of Vick’s signing, the Jets released former first-round draft pick Mark Sanchez after five seasons with the team.

Sanchez - Tebow 2.0?
Difference is that Geno's probably not as good as Sanchez and Vick's obviously much better than Tebow. Could get interesting.

Has a mediocre NFL career after several years of stellar performances at USC.

That's the beauty of being being a less than steller USC QB!
Just to be fair, recent Michigan Qbs haven't fared all that well either.

Recent Michigan QBs weren't 1st round draft picks.
USC "at least" was putting out first round QBs that had led their teams to significant winning seasons for the most part.
Michigan, not so much as of late.
My point is USC has done a better job of grooming QBs than Michigan has and we know why that is.
The new staff will "hopefully" reverse that negative trend.
Perhaps USC "groomed" QBs by having decent offensive lines.

Waiting until the market for QB jobs had dried up before releasing Sanchez.

the Jets will remain to be as clueless and foolish of a franchise as Detroit, Cleveland, Oakland, and Cincinnati. (Feel free to add to this list)

Here in Cleveland we're still looking. And how ironic wouldn't it be to sign him given that it was the Browns who traded with the Jets so they could move and get him in the first place.

That's all I have to say 'bout that!

Fitting end to an overrated stay with the Jets. For a guy who could never put it together, Sanchez sure got a lot of credit for a defense getting them to two conference finals.

No kidding. All the guy did was manage the game for a couple years and when asked to do more was woefully inept. But being from SoCal and playing in New York hyped up his profile to to a ridiculous level for a poor man's Brad Johnson type Qb.

Vick's farewell letter was pretty nice, I thought - (LINK).
I rather liked how he summed it up in particular:
The Eagles are an outstanding organization with a bright future, and I'm thankful for all the friendship, love, and support they gave me and my family. I look forward to seeing great things from them both on the field and in the community.
Take the letter for what you will, but he was nothing but complimentary of the fans and organization and talked much about the service to the community that he did as well as others in the Eagles' organization.

Today for example I'm standing at a long counter at a Bell Tire dropping my car off. The guy at the station next to me has his dog with him and the dog immediately starts licking my pants and shoes and sniffing me. I shake my leg in an effort to get the dog away from me and I get a dirty look from this douchetruck and the "he was just being friendly response". Guess what? I don't care I don't want your dog or any dog licking me. Keep him to yourself and stop assuming everyone wants to interact with it.
/rant dog owners are the worst
How much of it do you think he wrote?
I don't know what you're trying to say here, but to be honest, I don't think you know what you're trying to say here.
And the Rex Ryan clown show/drama pageant/media circus is guaranteed to continue. They'll continue to fill the seats, Ryan's defense will keep them in many games, they'll beat the Pats once in a while just because the Pats have a bad habit of tripping over the Jets once in a while, but in the end it will just be the Rex Ryan clown show. It is entertainment, I'll give it that, especially the foot fetish thing.
