Spring Football news seems scarce
Is it me, or does news around Spring Football seem eerily quiet?
It seems like in past years their was excitement, mgoblue videos posted pretty often, etc.
Is it the success of the basketball team? Is it the lack of excitement around the program for obvious reasons? Is it the resurrection of the "fort" that is doing it?
There have been one or two videos posted, but I think last year's videos took a while to be put up. Also, the whole Youtube crackdown has prevented some guys from converting them off of the MGoBlue site.
those in charge wanted. For all RR's faults his open access was a godsend to the Michigan program. This? Is no fun really.
Godsend? You liked what the Freep reporters did to our unsuspecting freshmen, twistiing their words to fit their agenda?
JIm Carty, Mark Snyder and Mike Rosenberg proved that "transparancy" will never work at the University of Michigan. I would love to have bunches of info available, but it just isn't good business under the current model to divulge unnecessary information. As long as there is the chance of even one reporter allowing a malicious personal agenda to cloud his or her judgment, it is foolish to allow any more access than necessary to anyone in the media.
Long live the Fort.
OMG BERSKETBERLL has something to do with the lack of much football news.
I swear to god if it's another ACL....
You mean the annual Frank Clark is going to have a breakout year proclamations?
One could argue that Clark DID have a breakout year. His numbers weren't spectacular, but the coaches voted him 2nd team All-Big Ten. Going from a backup to 2nd team all-conference is a pretty big step.
The best news on actual team stuff (as opposed to recruiting) rarely comes from the pay sites anymore. There is info out there if you know where to look. That said, there isn't much at this point because they haven't even put on pads yet. Give it a little time.
I take whatever I hear from practice with a grain of salt anyway. Last year what the different websites were reporting made us sound like world beaters. Like other posters have said. Less talk and more walk.
