OT: Michigan Last Words

Submitted by StateStreetApostle on February 13th, 2019 at 3:07 PM

A trifle random: today is the third anniversary of the passing of Michigan Man (and former Chrysler CEO) John Riccardo.

The great man (long-time season ticket holder) passed away of a heart attack at Crisler just after that impressive win over Purdue (almost as impressive as that picture of Ricky Doyle at the link).

His last words were "Thank God Walton made those free throws!"  Which got me thinking...since no one gets out of this alive, what would your ideal Michigan passing/last words be?

"I'd like to think that I've done some good in my life. I've raised a family, and seen them to grow up to raise a family. I've lived a full life and although it had its ups and its downs, I enjoyed it all. To my family, I love them, but I am especially proud of founding National Punch Urban Meyer in the Face Day."

"Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe!"

I witnessed Riccardo’s death that day. Will never forget it.

I’d want my last words to be Go Blue! Something simple and in victory. I’m convinced that I will die at a Michigan game sometime, and I’m okay with that.
