There were missed calls throughout the game. They let them play in the defensive backfield.
How about the Saints make an easy execution on the first down play and gain 5? Why isn't that play ever going to be remembered?
It's always the refs. Always the refs. Never anyone's fault. The Saints could have won that football and should have won that football game without needing that call. They didn't. That's on them.

Melissa Etheridge is still alive??

I think she's risen from the '80s and come back to haunt us.

Gotta say though, gutsy call to dial up a 57 yarder there. If he missed, saints had great field position.

Terry Bradshaw does not look healthy

Terrible officiating.
Incredible kicks by LA. Both of them under high pressure

can michigan find a running back like Sony Michel please!!!

Horrible no call on the obvious PI. These refs were horrible today. There were blatant penalties not called both ways. That no call may have cost Saints 4 points. Missed blatent face mask on Goff's run to the 2 yard line may have cost Rams 4 points.
January 20th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
That no call cost the Saints the ball game. The SB will have no credibility.

Eh, after watching what happened to Favre in that NFC championship game, I feel like this is some kind of belated karma
January 20th, 2019 at 7:19 PM ^
I'm surprised the refs didn't decide to throw the flag after the replay on the big board.
That's what happened to the Lions after the PI call in Dallas. (Though that was picking a flag up).
January 21st, 2019 at 8:20 AM ^
Exactly. The Saints have a lifetime of officiating bullshit coming their way to make up for 2009.
January 20th, 2019 at 6:51 PM ^
One can only guess what the officiating crew might have been paid to throw that game.
January 20th, 2019 at 7:01 PM ^
Team penalties:
Rams 7 for 64 yards
Saints 3 for 20 yards
Saints were not flagged until 5:39 left in 3rd quarter. No calls went both ways....2 obvious delay of games on Saints with no call, at least 2 blatant facemask not called on Saints.
No question that late play was PI. And I'm sure people will talk about it for a few days. But there were blown calls all game long, not just that one.
If the refs threw that game, they sure didn't show it most of the game.
Disclosure: I'm biased
January 20th, 2019 at 7:04 PM ^
I counted at least three delay of game penalties on saints in the game not called. Caveat: tv graphics vs actual game clock.

That official should never work another game.

30 years w no football in LA
and we still get a team to the super bowl before the lions.
If you are a Lion fan, I pity U. I was in 60s 70s 80s.
No more

The Rams moved to LA with Gurley and Donald. I think that helped a bit.

I didn’t have a dog in this fight, but that no call on the PI at the end was one of the most egregious errors I can recall seeing in a big game. It was obvious in real time on TV. I get they were “letting them play” for most of the game, but the defender never looked back, ran the receiver over and hit him in the helmet before the ball was close to arriving. Rams should be going home, not to the SB.
January 20th, 2019 at 8:36 PM ^
This. First thing that popped in my head in seeing the blown call. How do none of the officials see that? The only answer is they didn’t want to see it. Now that gambling is legal, seems like one of these States should investigate. At least go through officials bank records and phone logs. So shady looking.
January 20th, 2019 at 8:37 PM ^
I get the call was missed but there was plenty of time left for many things to happen. To say that missed call decided the game is a little (lot?) out of line. Saints won the toss in OT as well and botched that chance. Sorry, I don’t feel bad for the Saints.
Now, if a poor spot happens on a 4th down that could end the game.... that’s a different story.
January 20th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
No, this was a very rare example of a single call absolutely changing the outcome of the game.
January 20th, 2019 at 11:38 PM ^
What? The saints would have had a new set of downs, have run the clock, kicked the field goal, and won the game. You were watching a different game than we were watching.
January 21st, 2019 at 12:44 AM ^
Pass interference would have given Saints 1st and goal from 6 yard line.
But guess what....if refs call the facemask on Goff a few minutes earlier, Rams would have had 1st and goal at 1 yard line. Instead of getting 3 points and tying game 20-20, they could have scored a TD to take a 24-20 lead. That would have completely changed how Saints handled things late. They would not have been able to take a knee and kill clock.
Point is.....each team MAY have been screwed out of 4 points.
January 20th, 2019 at 8:56 PM ^
Refs need to do their damn job. Missed call at the end cost the Saints a Super Bowl trip.
Officiating continues to get worse every year.

But but but, officials don’t impact the game /s
