Fellas have that soak in a while. 29-1 in last 30 games for the Hoops team. It’s unbelievable. Anyone not on this train, and upset about football still, better get aboard ASAP!! Super fun to watch and can beat you in a ton of ways. Nice to see our squad show up and play well in big games. Embrace the basketball. The next 3 months will be a fun ride.

Oh, if you live in AA area, get out and support this team. Every night at Crisler should be rocking!!

Impressive win today vs a pretty good team. Offense looked smoovvvve, and the defense did their usual thing. No doubt that Z is the motor of this team. Dude had a top notch game today, especially that old school hook! 2/2 at the FT line was also good to see. Can't leave out Mr. Johns and his coming out party. That definitely bodes well for us for our depth!!

Michigan has now defeated Indiana in five straight games. That hasn’t happened since at least 1950 (I couldn’t find year-by-year results prior to the 1949-50 season).

Does anyone know where I can find a full game replay? I was out with the family today  and came home to CBS sucking balls and not letting my PSVue account record it.

I remember I entered college at Michigan right towards the end of the Steve Fisher era. While I enjoyed the first few years of the Maurice Taylor, Tractor Traylor, Louise Bullock years, I remember how devastating the sanctions were that made our basketball program painfully mediocre at best in the Big Ten for the next 10 years.

In short: I couldn't be more happy and proud to see how far we have come under John Beilein. It wasn't easy early in his tenure. But his patience, persistence, and integrity has made us into a thge type of Big Ten basketball powerhouse that we aspire to also be in football.

So long as Beilein (and don't forget Luke Yaklich!) are here, here's to many more years of sustained success.

It wasn't the sanctions that did it (although it sucked that an innocent group of players was banned from the postseason), it was hiring a terrible coach and then a mediocre one.   It's all about having the right coach.

What impresses me is how consistent this team is. Can't wait to get Livers back but one benefit is his absence will give a couple of the Freshmen valuable game experience.

That really is incredible.  That's basically a full season, and the only loss to the national champ (and we avenged that loss after).

This Beilein-Yaklich combo is just unbelievable. Incredible offensive production and a stout defense. What a great backcourt hire by Beilein.

I’m finally back from the game. First off this team is just amazing. 15-0. Game was never in doubt against a loaded IU team. The crowd was electric even without students at full strength. Love seeing the place packed! HAIL BEILEIN! HAIL MICHIGAN!!

Fantastic start by Beilein and the team. 15-0 is impressive. I’m trying to not get too excited because a loss is virtually inevitable, but it’s good to see this team firing on all cylinders.

This team is fun to watch.  Johns was huge tonight, I was skeptical about him being able to be a 5 as a true freshman, but hot damn he pulled down some nice boards and got tips around the rim.  Looks like he’ll likely be entrenched into the number 2 role by March.

love the skyhooks by Z, awesome that he added that to his game.

Matthews is a freak athlete, great moment early in the game today where he yelled at the IU a bench and stared them down after an and 1, always brings the intensity.

Jordan Poole is impressive with the ball in his hands, that step back 3 is entertaining and lethal.

Beilein is a great coach and even better human being, I appreciate that he always gets the loudest ovation during intros, much deserved.

We are a basketball school!  A very entertaining one at that.  Support it and embrace it.

I was talking with my friends while watching tonite saying that 28-1 is likely the best run by a BIG team since IU's undefeated season back in 1976. Pretty crazy for this conference.

One of the few teams to have a legitimate shot at going undefeated. It would have been incredibly ironic if Illinois was 38-0 going into that game and Sean May led UNC to stop Illinois from going undefeated, considering his father was POY for Indianas undefeated team.

Indiana was not happy he spurned IU for UNC - he lived his whole life in Bloomington

ya, i'm old enough to remember that IU team and scott may.  i believe he was the #1 pick in the nba draft.  didn't live up to that however.

edit: he was #2 pick behind john lucas.  pretty weak draft on the whole.  adrian dantley, robert parish, alex english and dennis johnson were other notable first round picks.

Also, no streak will be as good as Indiana's in the 1 loss department.

Indiana went 67-1 spanning from 74-76.

Only reason I know this stuff is because my mother went to Bloomington South, both parents went to IU, and my grandfather knew Scott May

Fantastic atmosphere at Crisler today. Hope we look back at today as the a turning point for Brandon Johns becoming a significant contributor- we need him.

We still miss Livers. To be fair IU is missing their starting PG and they will be very tough at Assembly Hall.

Our balance really helps us when one player or two is having an off game. Iggy, Mathews and Poole have all asserted themselves in multiple games this year when we were going through a cold stretch and needed it.

Mathews defense today (as usual but moreso), was terrific- he took zero possessions off on defense and was up in Romeo Langford's grille.

Z was really aggressive in driving and had a great two way game.

I have always been a M football first fan but the basketball has been such a decent way to transition thru some tough times. For us & our family, it’s been so much fun the last couple of years. Thanks JB for bringing even more excellence to M in so many ways!

So someone needs to relay the message there that when this team comes up against a good man defense, you cant have three good shooters(Poole, Ziggy, Mathews) standing around behind the arc not getting open looks. Those guys have to screen for eachother and move. I know many of you think you know basketball but you really don't. Over and over again you have Poole and Ziggy not getting touches or open looks. If X and Teske are screening at the top of the key and that doesn't work out then what? That play is dead because the wing guy and corner guy are just standing there for instance on the right side and their defenders are denying the ball and not going to give an open three to those two. So you have to get them free. Poole drops down to the corner and screens Ziggy's man. If the defenders switch, then Poole rolls to the hoop for maybe an open layup. If Pooles guy doesn't switch and Poole gets a good screen well then Ziggy has a nice open jumpshot catch and shoot from the wing. It's so simple. Someone please relay the message to JOHN FUCKING BEILEIN!!!

Thank goodness you’re here. Somebody finally needs to teach basketball to the guy who’s been a head coach for 45 years and has won more games than any other coach in Michigan history.

You might also mention this to the other coaches who watch Beilein teams so that they can try to learn his offense and pass it on to their teams.

Finally, you should probably relay this to the legions of opposing teams who have failed utterly to stop Michigan offenses. Just go tell them that they don’t know how to play a good man defense. Please start with Izzo, because (a) he’d probably believe the rest of the crap you’re shoveling, and (b) he may stuff you in a locker when you get to that point.

Since I really don't know basketball even though I think I do, maybe you should just relay the message to John Beilein personally. OK?

PS - up voted because you seem to need it and I see no reason to be willfully negative on a thread about a highly successful run by Michigan basketball.
