Don Brown A Finalist for Temple HC Job

Per the Philadelphia Inquirer

We could find out today the new Temple football coach. Three DC's Mike Elko (Texas A&M), Manny Diaz (Miami), & Don Brown (Michigan) are thought to be in the running. Based on some conversations, my gut says Elko is the favorite, but we will see.

Must be nice to be responsible for Michigan giving up the most points ever to OSU with NFL talent all over you defense and it becoming pretty clear you can't get it done against any quality offense and people would be sad to see you leave.

Would’ve thought that if he wanted to be a HC he would’ve become one by now, but he’s a Northeast guy so this move would make sense for him. And it’s a school that won’t high high pressure expectations, which is an added bonus for him since he’s definitely on the back end of his career.

Hope its not true.

There are some people saying this could have impacted Dax Hills decision.

I doubt it. Granted it wasn't football, but I went through college recrtuiting for a sport. You're told to not make decisions based on assistant coaches because they are always looking for a promotion.

I can't imagine he chose Bama over Michigan when Bama seems to have the most coordinator turnover of any program.

It’d be nice if he stays but JH has proven he can hired good DC’s. Durkin’s defense in 2015 did just as well as Brown’s over his 3 year period here based on S&P.

My perhaps contrarian view is that if he leaves it wouldn’t be all that big of a deal.

Thanks for the effort and happy trails if true....lets make sure the next guy can switch the "aggression" switch on and off as appropriate. A well run zone thrown in every once in a while would be great.

Good for him. Everything I've read and seen suggests the players love suiting up for him. He's been a good DC (not great, good) but I think a better leader for young men at an important point in their lives. He deserves a shot!

I just hope everyone remembers this thread if Don Brown comes back. The same people on here will be the same ones that are praising him if Michigan beats Notre Dame or Wisconsin or anyone with a substantial name.

Before the defense gave up 55 to OSU, this news would have been potentially disastrous.Harbaugh will find another top notch DC if Brown leaves. My biggest concern is recruiting on D this year.  Hope he stays, but I know M will get another great DC.
