Marcus Ray Takes More Shots at Michigan

Submitted by Clancy's Hands on October 5th, 2018 at 6:01 PM

Marcus Ray took yet more shots at Michigan football yesterday on "The Spartan Beat With Rico Beard" radio show (it can be found on iTunes - it begins at @ the 1:17:20 mark). Among the lowlights:

"Ohio State is about getting stops. I think Michigan is more about getting stats....when you can't win championships like Michigan can't, then you have to hang your hat on something else."

"[Michigan says] we got the number one defense in the world. Against who?"

"Northwestern should have blown Michigan out."

"Michigan's problem is that they out-athlete the bad teams and get out-coached against the good teams."

After trashing Michigan fans, he claims that he "dropped the mic in Ann Arbor" because he would rather talk to Rico Beard of The Spartan Beat.

"Michigan fans are trapped in this twilight zone of 'even when we stink, we smell good'."

Yes, because the only Northwestern game analyses consist of the dichotomy of: (1) “wow, what a win” which according to you is “delusional,” versus (2) “we suck, got lucky and were forced to out-athlete” them since our coaching suck which is Ray’s hot take.

Glad you enjoy Marcus Ray’s bloated sense of self worth and near morbid obesity.  Apparently every alum base must have one or two.

Marcus Ray was a homer when that was cool. Now he’s a hot take former player because that is cool because he might get a quote read on air by Valenti.

Him and Braylon at today’s day are both assholes. At least, for Braylon’s sake, he was great. I mean, Braylon remains the second best receiver in school history. So he’s a great former college player & current asshole

Jarrod Wilson and Delano Hill were better safeties than Marcus Ray. So he’s just an average former college player & current asshole.

When I worked at the Campus Inn and did breakfasts he was the only guy on the team who came across as a vindictive asshole.  When he started showing up on TV I thought he must have matured and that maybe I just saw a bad side of him then.  But no.  He's an asshole through and through.

Looks more like he takes shots of gravy.

Analysis is fine, and I get that pessimism in the guise of realism is the cool thing now, but if you don’t see the team making progress then I don’t know what to tell you.  We are seeing greater flexibility from the defense in certain situations (e.g. zone looks), and the offense seems like it has some wrinkles that haven’t been shown yet.  We have made some adjustments, and hopefully will make more as we get into the meat of the schedule.

I assume lots of the more negative posters spend too much time listening to local sports talk radio.  We lost a number of close games in recent years with terrible line play and mediocre-to-bad QB play.  Now that the line is improving and we have two legit QBs, why is it crazy to think we could beat quality teams?

Looking at Marcus Ray today, it is nearly impossible to believe he was EVER  at a body weight light enough to play DB.  He looks like a short ex-MAC center who let himself go.  Speaking of “let go” - it’s no wonder BTN let his sweaty butt go from game reporting.  It was getting uncomfortable watching him perspire like a liquid chia pet.   The last time I saw him on air was the spring game a few years back and I couldn’t believe how over weight he was.

Fuck this mother fucker. Who the fuck do you think you are? Are we dominant? No, but at least shed some light, this is unnecessary by him

Who knows why Marcus feels so bitter towards Michigan. But, he’s a turd. I avoid any broadcast, podcast, or anything else he’s involved with. He went from offering impartial insight to offering aggrieved, victimized, look at me bs.
