Possibility of MSU being a night game?
So what are the chances that the MSU game is a night game? Just curious because my wife wanted to go to a Halloween event on the 20th, but after looking at the slate of games for the 20th it looks like a decent chance it will be the primetime game. Will we find out the game time before October 1st?

Not a house party, it's a event in Detroit called Theatre Bizarre. Looks too weird to me but wife wanted to do something different for Halloween this year
September 25th, 2018 at 11:35 AM ^
Are you a Furry by chance?
September 25th, 2018 at 11:39 AM ^
Can't say that I am. Trust me that event looks a little too weird for me too, but the wife thought what the hell it is Halloween.
September 25th, 2018 at 11:47 AM ^
Have you been before? It's a sight to behold, that's for sure.
Also I think you might not know your wife as well as you think you do.
September 25th, 2018 at 11:51 AM ^
Looks like a glorified freaky strip club experience to me or am I wrong? Your comment seems to imply it is much more than that, which trust me neither me wife or myself would be interested in
September 25th, 2018 at 11:58 AM ^
Well for one thing it's really crowded, despite the large venue and multi-floor / multi-room set up.
You might walk into a room and see a mostly naked person with 25 gigantic fishhooks through their back hanging from a ceiling. Next room may have someone getting their ass whipped with a flogger. Room after that has a band playing with a midget singer dressed up like a scary Japanese clown.
And then there's the weird stuff...
September 25th, 2018 at 12:00 PM ^
Yeah, probably a little too weird for me. Your last line is also very ominious, I have to say
September 25th, 2018 at 12:04 PM ^
I had a really good time, but you have to be into, or at least comfortable, with really kinky shit.
September 25th, 2018 at 12:08 PM ^
Well regardless it looks like the only two dates they have it is the 13th and 20th and I think both of those are likely to be night games. Though I guess technically we might know on the 1st if the Wisky game is a night game so if my wife is really pushy I might reconsider it I suppose
September 25th, 2018 at 12:19 PM ^
Honestly the worst part about it was having to wait in line for an hour. There wasn't a VIP option and it was cold as fuck outside.
There's a lot of eye candy there and you'll get laid for sure when you get home. There's also many people that you'd rather not have seen.
You also have to wear a costume or black tie IIRC. I wore a tux.
September 25th, 2018 at 12:18 PM ^
But your still just watching the kinky shit right? Cause I don't think that would be too weird. Idk your comments almost make it sound like some freaky swinger vibe or something, lol
September 25th, 2018 at 12:37 PM ^
Yeah, it's mostly watching. Some things can be interactive if you like, and there's always a decent number of drunk/drugged people flopping around and getting handsy, but nothing too extreme.
There are plenty of swingers there, but that's not my bag and I've never been bothered. If you consider yourselves to be "normal" people it might be uncomfortable at some points.
I'm not trying to discourage you, because you'll probably have a lot of fun. Just want you to be prepared. So get dressed up, put a leash on the wife, and enjoy!
September 25th, 2018 at 12:44 PM ^
So I would assume it is encouraged for people's costumes to be as sexy as possible? Is there even a limit to what people can wear?
September 25th, 2018 at 12:52 PM ^
No limits as far as I've been able to tell. Maybe make sure your butthole is covered? Because I saw more than one butthole there.
Some people make really elaborate costumes. The wife and I went Victorian formal and wore masks (think Eyes Wide Shut). But a lot of people were mostly naked.
And some of them really shouldn't have been.
September 25th, 2018 at 1:09 PM ^
I think my wife wanted us to go as Khal Drogo and Daenerys. So yes buttholes would be covered fortunately
September 25th, 2018 at 1:15 PM ^
Check out the website. A store bought "cheap" Halloween costume won't cut it.
September 25th, 2018 at 1:18 PM ^
You mean won't cut it as in won't be as good as others or won't cut it as in they won't let you in. Cause I looked at the website before and it says the only requirement is to be wear a costume.
September 25th, 2018 at 1:52 PM ^
In the FAQ they specifically say that they'll deny entry to people not dressed to their standards. And they specifically mentioned Halloween store costumes.
Which is odd, because wearing nothing but a thong and nipple clamps is totally fine.
September 25th, 2018 at 2:08 PM ^
So handmade costumes then? If that's the case, I'm out, I'm not that creative
September 25th, 2018 at 2:16 PM ^
I just want to see how far this indents. This also shows why indented replies are not good design. Quoted replies are far better.
September 25th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
I'm with you.
I mean, I'm also checking out the Theater Bizarre website .... but currently way more interested in the substantial indentation
September 25th, 2018 at 2:44 PM ^
Doesn't have to be handmaid, just well made. Or go formal with a mask. Put the wife in a corseted dress and you wear a tux. $10 Zorro mask and you're good to go.
September 25th, 2018 at 3:57 PM ^
Or I could use this opportunity to rock a man-thong and nipple clamps
September 25th, 2018 at 12:27 PM ^
I'll be there on the 13th. I figured the MSU game was more likely than Wisconsin to be at night but as things go I may have f'd myself instead. But hey, best of luck to one of us.
September 25th, 2018 at 12:38 PM ^
I am curious Hatter what would you be your opinion of going after a potential night game at around midnight. It says it ends at 2, would two hours be a waste? It seems like a waste or is it one of those events where the best stuff is after 11 or so?
September 25th, 2018 at 1:12 PM ^
It's too expensive (IMO) to just go for two hours. I'd want to get there around 10ish. Plus, your wife is going to take a long time getting ready. It was pretty balls out right from the beginning. No need to wait for midnight.
Also, it's really different than a Michigan game. Not sure your head would be in the right place, unless we just pound the shit out of MSU.
September 25th, 2018 at 10:36 AM ^
Please no!
It’s probably unsubstantiated, and more about opponent quality and road woes, but night games during the Harbaugh tenure have been rough... Kinneck, Happy Valley, MSU (2017), South Bend
Was Minnesota the only win?
September 25th, 2018 at 10:48 AM ^
Well, we need to start winning this at some point and build some confidence. This seems like a good game to do that with.
September 25th, 2018 at 10:50 AM ^
Rutgers in 2016 ... oh wait you said quality opponent.
September 25th, 2018 at 1:09 PM ^
I'm still not sure how that game was even scheduled. Since when does Michigan play on the road against FCS teams?

Ron Utah is furiously typing up a new thread as we speak.
September 25th, 2018 at 10:56 AM ^
Why the hell do schools allow the networks to decide this stuff?
September 25th, 2018 at 11:09 AM ^
That is what figured, slate of games on 20th sucks can't imagine any other game being the primetime game. No loss wife wanted to go the event, I was more meh
September 25th, 2018 at 10:58 AM ^
I have no information, but here is my best guess as to how the rest of the season will play out in terms of game times:
9/29 at NW - confirmed for 4:30 p.m.
10/6 home against Maryland - confirmed for noon
10/13 home against Wisco - night game. We only have two decent home games - this one and PSU on 11/3, and I think that there is a preference against night games in November in the B1G because of temperature concerns.
10/20 at Sparty - night game (a) Rivalry game; (b) at least one of us might be ranked in the top 15 by then and possibly both (we need to win the winnable ones and beat Wisco, sparty needs beat CMU and NW and then PSU). If we both win out until then, this is definitely a night game. If we both lose our tough one, this game could lose luster and fall to a day time. I still think that Sparty pushes for this to be at night, since this is their Super Bowl.
10/27 - bye
11/3 - home against PSU - 3:30. Bonus prediction - if we both continue to win out until this game, Hello GameDay in AA.
11/10 - at Rutgers - 3:30 (although this could equally be noon)
11/17 - at OSU - confirmed noon
September 25th, 2018 at 11:11 AM ^
11/17 - is a home game versus Indiana, Kickoff TBD (all the match-ups this weekend are pretty meh, so this could definitely be a 3:30 kick)
We play OSU on 24 November at Noon.
Also, 10 November is a big match-up weekend for the Big 10. You have Wisconsin @ PSU and OSU @ MSU. Michigan @ Rutgers looks like a Noon game to me.
September 25th, 2018 at 11:20 AM ^
I've heard a couple of times that PSU will be a night game (including something about the support staff already being told to prepare for it). That's all still a rumor. Is it possible that Michigan could have three consecutive night games (Wisky, Sparty and PSU).....with a bye week thrown in the middle?
I'm flying up from Florida for the PSU game (and hosting a few Nittany Lion fans). I'll be pulling for your suggested 3:30 start time......and possibly Game Day!
September 25th, 2018 at 11:44 AM ^
That's friends and family weekend for the students (events scheduled all over campus). I was told they want to avoid a night game as it caused a bunch of issues last year when the Minnesota game fell on that weekend.
September 25th, 2018 at 11:37 AM ^
For your MSU prediction, the network will need to decide by October 8 if the game will be a night game or not as the B1G does not allow the 6 day flex option to be pushed into a night game. We will not have played Wisconsin and MSU will not have played PSU by that point so those games are not going to be taken into consideration.
September 25th, 2018 at 12:58 PM ^
thanks - good info.
This is why I don't mind threads like these - there are so many on here who know a ton more than I do about this topic.
. . . the more you know.

"I still think that Sparty pushes for this to be at night since this is their Super Bowl."
Really?
With all due respect, the Michigan Wolverines have beaten MSU exactly two times in the course of a decade and have not won a BIG Championship or been victorious over a team of consequence in god knows how long [to say nothing of the trash school in Columbus].
It is precisely this kind of arrogance that lends merit to so many people around the country detesting the collective UM fanbase. As a Spartan who hates Michigan football but respects the program and its tradition, you really don't do your school any favors by being so dismissive of MSU, a football program that has single-handedly emasculated your precious Wolverines for the better part of 10 years now.
As the "Leaders and the Best", I would recommend you act like it from time to time --- at least until you actually win something.
Sincerely,
Everyone who isn't a Michigan fan

I for one would love to win a super bowl or rivalry game 8/10 times
September 25th, 2018 at 11:04 AM ^
If it's a night game, I'm missing it and won't have a chance to watch the replay until fucking Tuesday. Was really counting on it being a day game.
September 25th, 2018 at 11:09 AM ^
No inside info (especially since it's unknowable at this time because decisions haven't been made), but it will be a night game.
September 25th, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
Have zero doubt Mork will push for it to be a night game.
