This stinks if he has had two season ending injuries in back to back years - it is easy for a player to get depressed in that situation.

Additionally, he was our best WR IMO.

This is awful for the young man.  it will be almost two years for him before he sees a football field. I feel the worst for him.

It's naive to believe that any team would emerge from Fall camp unscathed.  In all fairness, we can handle the loss of Tarik.  He's a helluva player to be sure, but he wasn't on any preseason all-america lists.  You saw it on the board.  There are kids who can step up and be productive.

It's not like if we lost Denard or David Molk in years past.

The team is going to be successful on the back of its defense.  That has not changed.  The only expectation for the offense this year is to not put the defense in bad situations.  That hasn't changed and their capability of doing so over last year has improved tremendously.  Even without Tarik.

We're going to be fine.

I guess we will find out something about Black tonight at the scrimmage. I do remember Rashan dealing with a shoulder injury last year and he seemed to do pretty good. Can’t wait for the 1st!

You would think before people post to this thread, especially if they have an important question to be answered, they would go back and read some of the 300 comments to see if it’s already been addressed.....

Gary is fine.

Hope that any injury he has is not serious, but every program has talented players who for whatever reason  just can’t stay healthy. It’s not unique to Michigan—it’s an aspect of football that’s universal.

Very thin after Crawford and McDoom left. The class of 2016 have all transferred out... Ambrey has been taking snaps at WR since Crawford left. He may actually be a better WR than CB, when the dust settles. He was great at the Nike Camp.

True. I would also add that the injury that Tarik had has a really high rate of re-injury, especially among WRs. In the NFL Julio Jones, Dez Bryant and Sammy Watkins all got hurt again and missed significant time coming back from it. Despite all the positive reports I never really felt like we were out of the woods yet with Tarik. Hopefully this is just a minor setback, but if not, next man up. We still have a lot of young talent at the position.

Yeah Yoder/Chatsports has this huge tendency to speculate for clicks. I.e. someone is on a cart= long term injury. That someone had an injury last season = season ending injury.

This is especially true since the night of an injury (last night) probably the player and his doctors don't even know the full extent of an injury (if major), or likely timeline, and if minor it might not be something the team felt worth reporting. I'm going with stress fracture, and I feel like I have access to as much information as Yoder does, and that's far from a season ending injury.

He also might have taken his twitter private to delete his earlier messages at a later date, and hope to avoid being called out.

Michael Spath just tweeted that he was told not to expect to have clear evidence of Blacks rumored injury one way or the other. So there goes my, “wait until practice tonight to see what’s going on” theory.

If he is not visible at practice tonight it will further the speculations. However, it can all be put to rest if he is dressed and participating in the open practice. This is a perfect time for an open practice. Everyone attending will be able to see for themselves who is dressed and who isn't participating. Unfortunately I live over 2 hours away and won't be making the drive for a 60 minute "walk thru".....

Let’s think about this for a second. Chat Sports guy sends out “insider” info that Three of Michigan’s most important players are injured on the last day of fall camp before game week. I wonder if that’s a good way to get site visits?

Also, who in the world might his “insiders” be, and how would such well positioned people, who offer privileged information to Chat Sports, actually know definitively if Black’s injury were season ending? Does Douche Yoder have an “in” with Michigan’s team doctor? If so, what might Yoder have to offer in return? All of the money he makes working as a scoop for Chat Sports?

Black is definitely hurt but severity isn't known. Or the staff has a good idea but not saying yet.

Gary is also hurt but not sure if he's going to miss any time or just play through it like last year.

Injuries happen and they suck. But really feel bad for Black if it means the season.
