I’m pessimistic the majority of the time, but I do not see this team losing more than 3 games. This ND game scares me, though. On the road, at night against a top 10-15 opponent in week 1 will be extremely difficult. Especially given the fact that Michigan hasn’t beaten a good team on the road in a long time. Hopefully that trend ends next week.

At 8-4 and most certainly 7-5, UM would lose more ground to OSU. Penn State would pass them and probably even MSU.

As of today they seemed to be positioned well to take a step forward and hopefully challenge OSU. If they don't take that step this season, it may not happen.

Since we're putting out predictions again....

I predict the only two games we lose this season are Wisconsin and MSU.

If Shea Patterson is significantly better than Wilton Speight (and there is every reason to believe that he is), then this is a 2016 situation all over again only with an upgrade at the most important position.

This is either the first or second most talented team in the conference. They have a great head coach. It's time for these two things to result in a championship.

The biggest concern for this team is up front on the offensive line and how to navigate a brutal schedule.

More than a lot of things, the schedule gets to me, but I also think that even with a mild improvement in offensive output and a decent performance from a Warinner-coached offensive line, we're in a position to at least fight our way to an 11-1 record if all went well. Not saying that would necessarily happen (but it seems far more in reach than it did last year), but last year, we were our biggest enemy sometimes. If you can overcome that, you can open quite a few roads to success.

As for me personally, I really just want to watch the first 3-4 games and then guess at the rest of the record like I normally do.

It's conceivable they lose to MSU because the Wisconsin game the week before may take a lot out of them. But I can see them going 12-0 very easily, and that is where I'm leaning at the moment. The defense is criminally elite. Shea is a monster upgrade at QB. All that is needed for this to be a special season is competent LT play.
