OT: Iowa Student Mollie Tibbetts' body found
Sorry to have to pass this on, but I was asked about this by FauxMo a couple of weeks ago, as I live about 27 miles from Brooklyn, IA.
Mollie's body was found Tuesday, it's been confirmed by her father and the head of law enforcement, but they're not giving out many details, as the investigation is still ongoing.
She was 20 years old, and a student at Iowa. My daughter is 17 and plans to go to Iowa, so I don't have to tell you that this hits REALLY close to home.
Hug your children if you have them. My heart is aching for Mollie's family, and the small towns in our area. We're all feeling the loss. She could have been my daughter.

People fail to realize that in civilization that there are more predators here than on the plains of Africa. I hope they find her killer and make them pay until then i will pray for her and her loved ones.

How many predators are on the plains of Africa ?

No. People are literally being hacked to death by marauding militias. South Africa is one of the most violent countries on earth with 19,000 homicides last year alone.
We are much safer than many Africans are.

Terrible tragedy.
The longer it went with her missing, the more certain I felt in what the final outcome would be. Young girls who just disappear like that usually don’t have happy endings.
Not at all blaming her for what happened, but I’m just stating a fact.

Any time a young person dies it's tragic. Clearly there was an argument here about how we should also be recognizing other people who have died, and that's 100% true. But every premature death is a tragedy.

For some reason I don’t get why the OP says this “hits close to home”. I must think about these things differently. I’m just as saddened by this as if someone in my hometown was killed. People are people. I hear this often so hate to single out the OP. But I don’t get it.

They have a suspect in custody, that led police to her body. He is an illegal immigrant btw.

Why the fuck would a killer lead someone to the body ? Do you want to spend life in prison ?

The plot thickens..... it was an undocumented immigrant who done it. This story is turning into pure gold for the Fox/CNN/MDNBC producers.....

Illegal alien killed her. Enough of this crap. Even as a Democrat they have to go. Nowhere else in the world can you enter a country illegally and get better benefits than a taxpayer citizen. It's insulting.

If this guy is guilty, than he is a murderer, but that has nothing to do with other immigrants from the same country. Our immigration policy needs to cleaned up and unified, but this guy represents immigrants the same way that Ted Bundy represents American born US citizens. This man is responsible for his actions, not the other individuals seeking residency, asylum, etc. It is foolish to classify people based on race or ethnicity. It always has been and it always will be.
