Meyer banned from OSU property, cannot contact players
There are some new reports out covering some of the deals of Meyer's administrative leave. In particular, he's not allowed to contact players, he has no access to his university email account or communication devices, and he can't be on OSU property.
Here's a link to the story.
There is one spot reserved for a current Big Ten AD. If Smith goes they will need to replace him. Alvarez was there before Smith. Who would be next? I'll guess Fred Glass from IU.
Wonder what urb's stress level is like these days? I like to think he's sitting at home, not being kept abreast of what's going on at the university...... contemplating his fate like a 15 year old outside the principal's office.
I doubt that's the case, but I sure enjoy the image of it.
One things is for sure, no matter what happens he won't take it on the chin.
"Take it on the chin."
Phrasing?
he has no chin to take it on..... the chinless bastard.
Good one.
Also bad for him is having no access to his school email and cellphone. He can't check to see what's still there for the investigators to see. I could imagine that causing a lot of stress.
He's eating cold pizza that tastes like sadness and despair.
So he's on administrative leave?
Suddenly a new assistant is at team meetings, Ruban Reymer.
No contact, like the no contact he's supposed to have with recruits during dead periods? I'm sure that will work out well.
If that's the case how are they to question Meyer? I would think that understanding what he knew and when and who exactly he reported it to and when, in addition to his logic for firing Smith last month versus in 2015 would be the central questions for this investigation. If they don't ask him that how can they evaluate it?
I imagine there is an exception for him to participate in the investigation. Or maybe they'll do it off-campus at whichever law firm the "investigation" committee is using.
I would expect they would want to interview Meyer last. They will go through his records, interview other potential witnesses and have their lines of questions prepared first.
They can interview him in his lawyer's office. He's going to have one present.
Also he will be given a list of what they have so that he knows what to deny and enunciate in a prepared statement to the press!
