Ummm... Frank Clark?
Our best defender?

This is what I was wondering. I made a thread about this a few months back. Glad it's actually happening.

With extra cheese.
You have no idea.

Clark will have a monster year along with Ryan. Love the move of moving Taco and I hope hes gets pt I thought he was getting after this years spring hype. My hope is Thomas takes the safety position and locks it down.

Yes, and as long as they are consistent, Ray and Blake are great on the outside.

Then Clark and Mario at WDE?
The downs with both Mario and Taco should have plenty of speed rush ability.

That would be very exciting! Dre coming back is huge!

Hurst and Poggi received high marks before the bowl game. If they can get some good reps and add some nice depth things will be looking up big time. It's 2014 after all...

toward our end zone will never come back again.

I just want consistent and violent pressure on every QB we face this year. Is that to much to ask?

Young DB will improve enough to be on an island! I say open up some of the those 2nd and 3rd down blitzes!
February 8th, 2014 at 8:53 AM ^
that is the key word.

Junior and Senior defensive starters with a couple of underclassmen thrown in the mix? Can this be true?
Then there is the offense... Hi Devin Gardner... we're looking at you and you look lonely in that senior class. Hope the linemen grow up quickly.

Seriously. Gardner is the only senior on offense who plays a significant amount (Paskorz is a backup TE). The other 8 seniors are defensive players or specialists.

Seriously? That is EXACTLY what he said.

"Exactly" isn't the word I would use.

Thanks for the reminder, Brown Bear. I was having a good morning until now, too.

I like the idea of Taco at SDE, but I was also hoping Wormley could be the #1 SDE. With his size, if he stays injury free this off-season I think he should get a lot stronger. I feel like our top 4 DE playmakers are Clark, Ojemudia, Wormley, and Charlton in no particular order. They all need to grow. Clark has show the most so far, but he still needs more than 4.5 sacks IMO. And, the other 3 definitely need to develop. But, based on their pedigree/recruiting profiles or whatever you want to call it you'd expect them to do so. So, if we can go Clark/Ojemudia at WDE and Wormley/Charlton at SDE I think that gives us our best playmaking group. But, they've got some work to do.

You're probably right, although I'm not a big fan of that. I'd much rather keep our top player out there 2/3-3/4 of the time and let the other guys give them solid snaps and breaks...but certianly not half the time. I feel like it's harder to get into a groove when you switch that much, especially in the first half. Motor skills need to be repeated and reinforced and it takes time to figure out how to beat your man. If you're constantly switching, you're constantly learning and maybe not meeting your man as much.

He obviously can play SDE IMO, he's big enough right now. He'll put on some weight, but hopefully not too much, Taco is athletic and fast at about 265 lbs, keeping that athleticism and speed is more important in my opinion than bulking up to 285+. Speed and athleticism kills at the DE position, not bulk.
