Whatever gives us a better chance to put pressure on the QB. When Akron has all day to sit back in the pocket and pick your secondary apart, you know your D-Line has some issues.

Clark will have a monster year along with Ryan. Love the move of moving Taco and I hope hes gets pt I thought he was getting after this years spring hype. My hope is Thomas takes the safety position and locks it down.

SDE doesn't really have a lot of depth or talent especially if Chris Wormley moves to DT. Also a DL of Charlton, Henry, Pipkins, Clark would be exciting.

Though this move was coming sooner or later, wasn't the word on him during recruiting that he was athletic enough to grow into a force from the strong side.

no joke its hoke

i like the move! but Michigan football has beaten me down so much over the last 10 years, until I see it week in and week out I'm not holding my breath on this "beast" of a line.

Junior and Senior defensive starters with a couple of underclassmen thrown in the mix?  Can this be true?

Then there is the offense...  Hi Devin Gardner... we're looking at you and you look lonely in that senior class.   Hope the linemen grow up quickly.

The 2014 season is here. Just to get the bad taste of 2013 permanently gone. I believe we have those Woodley, Martin, Watson, Graham types on the D-Line.. Along with the Woodson, Hall, Jackson, Law types of DB's to help that rush get there. It's only a short matter of time (2015 the latest) we will see a real Michigan defense on the field.

I like the idea of Taco at SDE, but I was also hoping Wormley could be the #1 SDE.  With his size, if he stays injury free this off-season I think he should get a lot stronger.  I feel like our top 4 DE playmakers are Clark, Ojemudia, Wormley, and Charlton in no particular order.  They all need to grow.  Clark has show the most so far, but he still needs more than 4.5 sacks IMO.  And, the other 3 definitely need to develop.  But, based on their pedigree/recruiting profiles or whatever you want to call it you'd expect them to do so.  So, if we can go Clark/Ojemudia at WDE and Wormley/Charlton at SDE I think that gives us our best playmaking group.  But, they've got some work to do.

You're probably right, although I'm not a big fan of that.  I'd much rather keep our top player out there 2/3-3/4 of the time and let the other guys give them solid snaps and breaks...but certianly not half the time.  I feel like it's harder to get into a groove when you switch that much, especially in the first half.  Motor skills need to be repeated and reinforced and it takes time to figure out how to beat your man.  If you're constantly switching, you're constantly learning and maybe not meeting your man as much.

He obviously can play SDE IMO, he's big enough right now.  He'll put on some weight, but hopefully not too much, Taco is athletic and fast at about 265 lbs, keeping that athleticism and speed is more important in my opinion than bulking up to 285+.  Speed and athleticism kills at the DE position, not bulk.
